Overall Satisfaction with Skype
We purchased the NewTek Talkshow 4000 which does full HD Skype with 4 simultaneous callers without delays and full quality over 90 percent of the time. It also has the capability of increasing the resources of the computers the callers are using to enhance the transmission quality. We are currently going through some testing at this time. I do have something to talk about though, the latest Microsoft Update for the Skype TX, has a bug. It lets you log in your ID but comes up with a .dll file is missing a file and then just spins for the rest of the day. As a result, I have not updated any other machine but my test machine. We really need to check the bugs out with any Microsoft product before using it on our main systems. That is why we have the test machine. Other than that, I am anxious to start using the new system with our production equipment in our studio.
- Quality is improved for both Audio and Video now (Using the NewTek 4000)
- 4 - simultaneous callers
- Ability to tweak the callers system to enhance transmission quality by increasing resources.
- Software updates must be free of bugs. The current update for Skype TX has frozen my test system after the update. "DLL" file missing.
- Voice quality controls could be improved.
- Easier way of adding callers when we are having multiple callers.
- I have to try it out first more extensively before I can calculate ROI.
