Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Skype most frequently to message my bosses' quick questions, as we're still virtual and I can't just go to her desk. It's also integrated into Outlook, so sometimes I use Skype to schedule meetings.

Pros and Cons

Shows your availability to others.
Divides up conversations into individual chunks.
Remembers old conversations/contacts.

It's not always easy to find an old conversation that you've x'd out.

Return on Investment

Easier communication.
Quicker turnaround on projects.

Alternatives Considered

I've used Teams, and I probably do prefer it to Skype because it offers more functionality, but Skype works well for what it is. I was not part of the decision-making process.

It's great for more casual workplace communications. A quick question for someone where you don't want to pick up the phone, or a virtual chat. If you're having a bigger group meeting or something more formal, a program like Zoom may be better suited.
