Overall Satisfaction with Skype

I used Skype mainly in one on one calls with clients and to be reachable for clients abroad, but also for private calls.
  • It's broadly used.
  • Over the last year (2020) until today the call quality got rapidly worse.
  • Although both sides had great connections, skype constantly gave warnings, lowered the video quality, and chopped the audio until the video was deactivated.
  • It basically became unusable due to that issues.
  • Stop telling people it's their connection. Switch to ANY other tool like Zoom, BlueJeans, Jitsi, whatever, suddenly the connection is perfectly fine.
  • It's not the client, IT'S SKYPE!
  • There were a lot of meetings that had to be aborted, delayed, and done without video.
"Describe how Skype stacks up against them and why you selected Skype." Not at all. I am writing this review as a "no more customer," as Skype doesn't work anymore. The only help they offer is to tell you, it's your own connection. Well, if my connection isn't suitable for Skype anymore, I'll just use literally EVERY other tool, as my connection there is fine.

Now only usable for phone calls. Whenever the video is on, it will break down.
