Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use slack in my instructional design projects and upon implementation of my projects. Slack allows me to collaborate with people quickly rather than have emails sitting in an inbox. Getting fast responses helps me produce work faster and products on the market faster. On the other side, my subject matter experts often ask me questions. Slack allows me to get to their questions more quickly. Speed and efficiency are why I use Slack.

Pros and Cons

Emojis are really fun because it avoids over crowding channels
Notifications are great
I like that I can link my Miro board and Google Drive to Slack

It's always hard for me to open a new workspace on my app
Notification sounds or banners do not always work
Sometimes I have an unread message, but cant find it

Positive ROI because i can put products out more efficiently
Not everyone uses slack so its hard to onboard people
Getting into the workspace can get frustrating because it doesn't always integrate well from the web to the app

Slack is well suited for quick communication. I appreciate that people don't crowd my email with items that can be handled in a quick response. It's also great for sharing links and such with others. You can also communicate without words. Emojis work just fine. It helps avoid an influx of noise. Slack is not at all well suited in situations where you need to list many things. I find the bullet function not easy to use.
