Overall Satisfaction with Snagit

I use Snagit in the creation of training materials and supporting materials. When we need detailed, picture-based instructions, Snagit is PERFECT. When you need to send quick instructions that are made on the fly to an employee via email, Snagit provides just-in-time instruction that provides not only excellent instruction but also looks professional.

  • It would be great to have the ability to import designs to use as permanent, selectable effects for other pictures.
  • More keyboard shortcuts for specific effects
  • Snagit saves time - creating instruction can be done in minutes, which frees trainers up to work on more detailed tasks.
  • Snagit allows for creativity in creating images which can be useful when putting together a PowerPoint or Keynote.
If you are looking for our image editing, something like Photoshop is a more robust tool - it can just do more. What it lacks is screen and video capture. Photoshop allows for detailed editing, creation, and more. Whereas Snagit is more useful for creating instructions and doing light image editing for use in a guidebook or PowerPoint.
I’ve had a handful of times in the past few years where I’ve had to reach out to Snagit with questions. And, every time, they’ve been helpful. They are quick to respond and are always professional and pleasant. I’ve had a question about purchasing both the product and the maintenance packages, and they are still knowledgeable and patient with my queries.

Snagit is the ideal tool to create instructions for the software. It is easy to design pleasing, professional instruction that is easy to view and make sense. If you need to edit a picture and remove color, etc. quickly, Snagit is also excellent. While it does not have the horsepower of something like Adobe Photoshop, it works to get the job done. And, it’s so easy to use, you can quickly throw to gather some instructions to email team members who need assistance.
