We use Spiff to calculate and report commissions for our sales team. It ties our QuickBooks invoicing with our Salesforce Opportunities which helps automate our calculations and provides greater visibility to the team.

Spiff provides better alignment between finance and Sales. The accountant in me always wants to double-check the numbers by re-creating them in Excel and Spiff provides exports to Excel so I can double-check our figures.
