Overall Satisfaction with SQL Server Business Intelligence Manager
We used it to monitor our SSIS and SSRS environments for a few years company wide. We had it to go along with our SQL Diagnostics Manager product so we could have an end to end monitoring solution for our entire environment.
- Types of alerts
- Dashboard view
- Configurable Alerts
- Not the most intuitive product
- The basic features are easy to use, the more advanced features are more difficult to use than they should be
- Drill Down is clunky
- Being a small shop with a small SQL Server BI footprint it was not worth the price
- IDERA SQL Diagnostic Manager for SQL Server, SolarWinds Database Performance Monitor (formerly VividCortex), Spotlight, Redgate SQL Monitor and SQL Sentry
For our small environment, we already had Idera SQL Diagnostics manager so we felt like that would be good enough and not pay for the extra licensing. If we had a bigger BI footprint, we could certainly have had a good business case for it.
