Overall Satisfaction with SurePayroll

I used SurePayRoll at a small legal service nonprofit that transitioned from a Board Member handwriting checks monthly to the SurePayRoll platform, which ensured we paid our growing team bi-weekly. We decided to use this platform because it was cost-effective and easy to navigate. I was the sole user in the organization, and as we were a small nonprofit, I had many other tasks besides the role of the human resource department so it was beneficial for SurePayRoll to be an easy platform to navigate. The issues that it addressed were helping our organization ensure that our employees were being paid on time and that both we and they had the proper tax documents on time to file.

Pros

  • ease of navigation
  • ease of granting other users read-only access (ie, the accountant, audit purposes, etc)
  • reminders to ensure payroll gets done

Cons

  • users at the org could not reset their own password
  • would love options for video training for employees who access the platform
  • would love options for video training for accountants and contractors who access the platform
  • has given us more time to focus on other tasks
  • training was easy for employees who used it
  • helped us achieve our objectives organizationally
I was not part of the committee that selected SurePayroll so I am unsure about why SurePayroll was selected. I do know our Board and Executive Director looked for a platform that was cost-efficient and helped us achieve the goals of our organization without taking up too much time, so that is why we decided on this platform.
SurePayroll was great when we had questions or needed support, ie. if we messed up with a payroll, needed to submit tax documents or get documents. The ease of communication between us and the organization was great and they made it easy for users to call in with support requests.

SurePayroll is well suited for a small organization (nonprofits) where employees have many different roles. In our example, I worked in the fundraising, development, and communications department while also planning events and working alongside our Board and had very limited time. I knew that logging on to SurePayroll each week would ensure that the tasks I needed to do as they related to payroll would be done quickly so that I could move on to other, more urgent tasks.
