Overall Satisfaction with Tableau Desktop

Our company does consulting work for various clients where we customize Tableau Desktop dashboards for them to provide data visualization and analytics (BI/AI) capability

Pros

  • Connect to multitude of data sources
  • Provide a wealth of visualization options
  • Very easy to use interface that’s easy to adapt to and learn
  • Data analytics provide real business knowledge and translate to value

Cons

  • Filters could be added at the data source level
  • Allowing extracts to be used instead of live connections in case live connections are unstable
  • Eliminate unused fields from showing in an easier manner
  • The value we have been able to create for customers using Tableau Desktop has helped us establish our reputation, providing tons of value to our customers via the leverage of visualization and data analytics made possible by the tool
  • We use Tableau Desktop internally to measure all kinds of business areas, and are making business decisions based on what can easily be seen (and used to be hidden) on our Tableau Desktop dashboards
It was so intuited for me, my colleagues and for most of the clients we onboard to use this tool. It is created to use with ease and it is so widely adopted that tutorials are very easy to find when needed.

Yes

Did implementation of Tableau Desktop go as expected?

Would you buy Tableau Desktop again?

Yes

Tableau Desktop is the ultimate data visualization and analytics tool. First of all it’s simple to use and connect to various data sources with minimal customization. Second, the ease at which visualizations are created is second to none, based on the products I’ve used, with Qliksense being second. It is well suited for companies who have data but they are overwhelmed and don’t know what story it’s trying to tell them. With Tableau Desktop it’s easy to see problem areas, opportunities for cost savings or even growth. The power is in the data and Tableau Desktop helps the story to be consumable and in a simple manner.
