Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The Okta Identity Cloud is used as my whole companies SSO for our SaaS applications.

Pros and Cons

The Okta Identity Cloud push MFA is easy and quick to logon
GEO filtering for logons protect us from hackers
VPN auth makes it a single identity provider and we do not need seperate tokens fo VPN

Integration to AD is a setup
Integrations to some apps can be surprisingly time consuming

Automation of provisioning licenses

Independent Platform

The Okta Identity Cloud makes provisioning users and licenses easy. It also adds a layer of access security via Geo tagging that blocks hundreds of brute force hacking attempts daily.

Customer First Team

N/A but support has been quick to help and solve out P1 issues.

The Okta Identity Cloud is excellent and a key factor to our uptime, though we did have an issue when DynDNS went down where our entire infrastructure was down due to not having access to The Okta Identity Cloud.

Alternatives Considered

Ping Identity Platform, Google Authenticator and Microsoft Azure Active Directory

As far as MFA , the push authentication is a major timesaver Vs, some of the other MFA authenticators that require you to enter a code.
The key winner is license provisioning and deprovisioning that saves huge amount of time not needing to onboard individual apps and saves money not needing to reclaim licenses

Likelihood to Recommend

Large multi Saas organizations make it useful. Also assigning licenses based through The Okta Identity Cloud makes license management and provisioning easy. This is over kill for smaller organizations.
