Scribe Online, pro, cons and when to use.
Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO Cloud Integration (including BusinessWorks and Scribe)
We have been using Scribe for a very long time now. From the On-premise version to the Online version, it’s a product guaranteed to work with all our Dynamics customers. We use it for migration to the Cloud, but also for some integrations where other products require (more) custom coding. This is certainly a pro. Migration requires repeatability, and Scribe allows this easily. Also, logging is clear (most of the time ;-)), but when an error occurs it’s easy to re-run the failed record when you fixed the logic!
Pros
- Friendly UI.
- Good logging.
- Good retry mechanism.
Cons
- Slow debugging.
- No easy Deploy mechanism.
- The migration License is great.
- Integrations might be highly priced for some customers.
It all depends on the business scenarios. For migration and less tech-savvy consultants, Scribe Online is the tooling to go for! When you are more tech-savvy and know SSIS, you could use that for migrations, although you’ll miss the online interface. For integrations I would also look at Logic Apps from Microsoft.

If you’re new to the product, it’s good to start with the online training. We also had the in-person training, which provided some additional tips and tricks, but not real big items. It's nice to get to know the people behind the product though.
