Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO Data Virtualization

We have data coming in from diverse sources. Some of the data come from the operational systems and the rest of it is derived from external sources with whom we have subscriptions for the same. This data is sanitized and transformed into various reports and dashboards which are consumed by customers either in the form of PowerBI/Tableau or are a raw dump of the same. Data virtualization is used by core operational teams only.

  • Higher learning curve.
  • Pricing is high.
  • Initial setup is slightly cumbersome.
  • Ability to seamless extract and transform data means we are able to share more intelligence with our customers.
  • Data Security and Governance are another aspects that our customer believes in and is one of our core values. TIBCO application helps us easily address this.
  • Performance is key in this kind of work where the customer really does not want to wait for their data to render as soon as they apply filters.
When we evaluated the pros and cons of each of the competitor applications, what we found is that the pros in Tibco outweigh the cons by a decent margin. Tibco gave us great confidence when we evaluated it in terms of its ability to connect with all the data sources we had in scope with no compromise in overall performance when it came to data extraction and transformation (ETL process). Security was another deciding factor for us and overall security measures that Tibco provided were clearly in line with the standard of our organization and that of our customers.
The software itself takes some effort during the initial days in terms of setting it up and successfully working with it. The overall transition and handholding we got from Tibco implementation team were great. Subsequently whenever we reached the support team for any help with the product was handled with ease and within stipulated SLAs. This ensured there was no gap in our deliverables to our customers.
