Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for recruitment, onboarding, timekeeping, payroll, benefit management, evaluations, and document storage. It has allowed us to go almost paperless and has increased the self-service for employees, allowing our HR staff to attend to less admin work. I am in the program multiple times a day.

Pros and Cons

Reports - they are so easy to customize on the spot, create from scratch, share, and easy access on the dashboard. Best I have ever had!
Employee Self-Service - there are so many options; we have rolled things out slowly and are always finding new things to allow employees to self-serve.
Payroll - simple and easy to access and update on the backend when needed.

Recruitment - Too clunky to maneuver for supervisors and employees, needs to be streamlined.
Onboarding/Checklists - The layout can be confusing, and documents go missing.
Job Descriptions - Need easy storage/access/editing.

Return on Investment

The system has allowed us to implement a 6-month onboarding and orientation for new hires which includes HR/payroll paperwork, company-centric training/info, system info, and job-specific training to help increase retention and connection to the company, department, and position.
The system has allowed the HR department to go almost 100% paperless, which has been vital due to growth in the workforce and locations spanning over two counties (and HR staff working in different offices).
Employees have access to more info than they ever did before, allowing for transparency, communication (pop-up message upon login), and instant access to their own info such as PTO balances, benefits, W-2, etc.

Usability

For the average user they do not struggle. We do have a handful of users who struggle using their own smartphones, and of course, they struggle with any technology. However, we do not let this sway us from helping them learn. Managers have found the system easy to navigate once fully trained.

Ease of Integration

You need to take your time and dedicate a whole year to truly customize the areas of your company. It is very robust.

UKG Personal Experience

I used to spend a lot of time on reports - for year-end, audits and quarterly compliance reporting. Old systems never gave me the info I needed, so I would have to merge multiple reports. I am in love with the reporting...I can make almost every report into what I need! This alone has saved me HOURS each month.

ADP was not as intuitive and, for the user, not as pleasant to navigate and look at.

You need to be fully committed to the implementation and take your time to customize the areas to get the full benefits of the system. It is very robust, which could be overwhelming to some, but if you take your time, it can really be worth it.
