Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for AWS

We use Veeam Backup for AWS for a group of VM in IAS suscription. This VM have application for medical auditor on land. It is really importat to hace high availability of this VM al time. We use Veeam Backup for AWS to backup and restore this machine.
  • Our operator have the same interface por restore on-premise as in cloud VM machine.
  • Veeam Backup for AWS has a full integration with AWS Cloud Computing Platform
  • The integration of Veeam One will be Great.
  • We are using S3 repository. It is really hard to implement inmutable repository with out this service.
  • The report of its jobs is a litle simple and we have to make inform manually of its jobs.
  • The backup copy is difficult to operate and deploy.
  • For us, is really importat control the cost of use of S3 account. This point doesn´t appear y reports.
  • The integration to Veeam One (on-premise) to AWS platform isn`t possible. We have a manual report writer for compliace to SGSI.
Afther thar Veeam, our company had AWS Backup.When migrate to Veeam Backup for AWS inmediatly the operation and recovery time were less. We very like its efficiency and facility to operate. Our administrator and operator have skill on Veeam Backup and replication on premise. Then his trainning was faster and easier than AWS Backup.

You have to use Veeam Backup for AWS when its platform has IAS, and the respositories are on AWS S3. I recomend to use Microsoft AD to sincronize user, group a permission on this pltaform. This is easier than OpenLDAP or other directory service.

Using Veeam Backup for AWS

4 - We have four members of Backup Teams. But we aren't technical dedicated to Veeam Backup for AWS. All technical have enought skills to resolv problem.
  • Restore Full VM.
  • ISO 27002 Backup Compliance
  • Restore data files
  • We are using this solution to re deply testing environment.
  • We are migrate another application to this cloud provider. Estimate more than double of VM.
We are very satisfied with Veeam Backup for AWS.
I recommend its use on AWS.

Evaluating Veeam Backup for AWS and Competitors

Yes - We started to use AWS Backup on 2020. The product was good, good operation, short time recovery and a full integration to AWS ecosystem.
But, our team didn't like some feacture and the control of platform was poor.
Almost, we were using Veeam Solution on premise and over Tennat in Azure.
These was the principal factor to evaluate the change. One tools for all platform.

Veeam Backup for AWS shared similar characteristic than other ambient like Azure IAS or GCP.
We are Veeam client for a long time, and our teams are training on this solution. And its confort zone is Veeam.
Easy to use and the realiable are the first factors.
Our evaluation was fast an easy.
I don't change anythings of the process. But, we have a little trouble with the AWS support when we ask some cost information about the use of S3 repsoitory.
We resolved this situation whith a partner of AWS.

We were using support for two o three years. The time attention and respond was allways sucessful.
The skill of its sevice desk and engineer are wonderful.
Our support level is production in all platform.

Last year we had evaluted the premium support, but we decided to continued with the stantard support.
The time to respond was efficient and every interaction with Veem technical support was successful.

I think that this factor is the best benefit to use Veeam Backup for AWS.
It is really to use and the user experience is really amaizing.
Our backup operators are doing his jobs easier than other solution than we had in the past.

Veeam Backup for AWS Reliability

We have using this solution since 2020. In that moment we had four Host Linux and today we have forty vm Linux and Windows. The solution work fine as with few vm as multiples vm. The backup operators lovely this feacture, because keep simple his duties.
Finally, we use the same solution for AWS, Azure or onpremise.
This is great characteristic for skill transfer over backup team!
Allways Veeam Platform works really fine.We have 100 % of restaturation's result and we use this solution for recovery VM for situation that:- Corruption of operating system afther thar update.- Malware incident (ramsomware).- unavailability of on premise VM.- failt partial or total of VM.- Make testing enviorement
We use the Veeam Backup for AWS by the same console that use another ambient.
We monitoring its loads from tools that use Veeam PowerShell. We use Zabbix. We traid to use Veeam One but this product only show information about jobs scheduled on premise.
In other words, if will be great if Veeam One could be show information abou Veeam for AWS.
