Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Veeam Backup for Azure for backing up all of our cloud data in Microsoft to our in premise backup system. Thereby, protecting our data and providing a recovery point we require on a timeline we need it; if we ever needed it. Veeam's software fits nicely into our backup suite of software and requires a very small backup window to get the data pulled out, saved to the system, and copied to an alternate location for redundant protection.

Make the azure client integrated into Veeam Backup and Replication. so you can use one console tool
The console is a little clunking and can use optimizing
Job details are not verbose enough to help when issues arise in backing up

We have had fast recovery of documents when needed; sub 10 minutes from start of restore to complete and in the users hands
Easily a value add for backing up files outside of the given Microsoft retention period; piece of mind
Easy tool to use with minimal training required to use it and set up backups
When you do change your cloud licensing it does require manual intervention to update backup data requirements. if the business makes changes then your backup person may not know to make these changes

Usability

Sort of easy to set up. Documentation is lacking from Veeam and Microsoft is forever changing the cloud side making it difficult to get new clients set up. Once running its easy to use, update, check backups, get notification of backups, and restore files and content. Even replicating backups to an alternative location is pretty easy to do.

Barracuda Backup, Symantec Ghost Solution Suite, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365, Veritas Backup Exec and Veeam Data Platform Foundation

Veeam Backup for Azure is very similar to all the above. its just how large a backup set you have, what backup storage systems do you have, backup network requirements, recovery point objectives, ransomware protection level you want, recoverability options, and how much you want to spend on a backup software solution.

Likelihood to Recommend

Veeam Backup for Azure is only suited for Microsoft Azure backups. It can back up anything you house in 365 and give you pretty any scenario for recovery if needed. the only challenge i see is if you need to restore something from a year or more ago. Microsoft will have changed the cloud platform and i could see issues in what and how to restore old documents, and configuration. It may require a microsoft ticket which is time consuming to get the right team and accurate help.
