Overall Satisfaction with ViewPoint ProContractor

ViewPoint ProContractor is our main accounting software for handling job cost management. Our accounting department spends the most time with the software but project managers and engineers use it to help track job costs and budgets. Idea is to create PO's and track purchase to be able to understand the current and proected costs of your project.
  • Lots of reports available to generate
  • Software processes run very slowly
  • PO receipting can be cumbersome, especially if you have to make changes on the fly.
  • From a project manager, prospective software costs me time, which ultimately is money for the company.
When something isn't working, you can contact support who will gladly remote into your system and try and work out a solution. Though several of the issues we encountered, they were not able to fix and had to submit for further review. While some were eventually rectified in updates, it takes time for these to be addressed and implemented.

Do you think Viewpoint ProContractor delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Viewpoint ProContractor's feature set?

No

Did Viewpoint ProContractor live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Viewpoint ProContractor go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Viewpoint ProContractor again?

No

ViewPoint ProContractor provides lots of options and seems to have the ability to handle most tasks required for the accounting department as well as for project managers. Overall the system is cumbersome and a lot of time can be lost trying to work through the software and find areas/options that are needed. Limited in handling unexpected changes though this is probably by design but does not suit our needs as a site contractor with ever changing needs. While they do respond to comments and add new features the process is slow.
