Overall Satisfaction with Viewpoint Vista

I use it in all aspects - what modules do we have, what are we not using, what happens if we change this process - how will it affect the GL. I'm pushing strongly to get the mobile app rolled out to our team ASAP. I have done a lot of reading and researching.
  • Crystal is the easiest report writer I have ever used.
  • Multiple ways to break down the Chart of Accounts makes cost analysis a breeze.
  • Vista is very user friendly. I have never had to repeat training someone or "how-to" = they get it the first time because the system is very intuitive
  • We are a quarry, and we fall under the "mining" category, but our business is just enough different from the normal contractor's business that we've had to create work arounds in processes so that we can track everything we need to.
  • The speed since we've moved to the cloud is very slow - however, that could be where we are located.
  • phases, cost types, pay types, etc = there are so many was to break things down but if you are coming from a company with a standard GL, the account structure on Vista is a little difficult to wrap my head around.
  • we are still working through connectivity issues which pretty much puts us dead in the water when we lose internet
  • The standard reports that are a part of Vista need to be finagled for us to us them. They don't have all of the parameters and/or prompts that we need to report on
I have worked with multiple ERP systems over the years and Vista is by far the easiest one that I have ever worked with. I am very, very excited about rolling the app out to the guys out in the field.
We are working towards that.
There are more options and data kept in Vista that allows us to work on data-driven business decisions. Vista is flexible - we've had to create work arounds in some situations and we've been able to identify those quickly and easily.

Do you think Viewpoint Vista delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Viewpoint Vista's feature set?

Yes

Did Viewpoint Vista live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Viewpoint Vista go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Viewpoint Vista again?

Yes

I know there are positive points, as I was telling my boss earlier this week how amazing it is that we don't have to do a lot of the things I did at a previous company. I do feel that Vista could do a lot to make the correction process in Material Sales simpler than it currently is. I absolutely love the "grid". Amazing to me.

Upgrading Viewpoint Vista

Yes - We are still struggling to print invoices. and that was the only hiccup. I've been involved in at least half a dozen implementations or re-implementations in the last 15 years and I am still in awe at how easy we transitioned.
  • field management app
  • electronic timecards that we can use even if the internet does not work at that spot
  • the data analytics we'll have available and the dashboards for the top managers
  • I would like to see MS Sales corrections/credits go as easily as voiding an AP check.
  • reports with more parameter options so that we can limit custom reports as much as possible
  • additional production reporting to accommodate the mining sector of the industry
