AuthPoint, On Point

We use WatchGuard AuthPoint for Multi Factor Authentication. It uses the authpoint app on the devices of our users so that sms text messages are not relied upon. We wanted a secure way of verifying that the users credentials are only used by the user that they were issued to, no more sharing accounts or becoming untraceable.

I would say it is a mix of where we benefited or show no change. The ability to log into watchguard Cloud makes the interface a bit more friendly when making changes to Authpoint users, but the ability to change users information in the past was still accessible, even if the interface at the time was less friendly.

The AuthPoint app was adopted by every user except for one. There was great concern from the user about installing a program on their personal phone. At the moment we decided that when that user needs to use Watchguard... they will most likely need a physical token which works with the Watchguard cloud system.

We have yet to setup a system between both WatchGuard AuthPoint and our Active Directory for simplifying credential management. We know the feature exists and that it would simplify the management of passwords for the users, but at the same time, having one password unlock everything is in a way less secure in my opinion. We have yet to decide on implementing this simplification.
