Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard AuthPoint
We have deployed AuthPoint to protect our business on several vectors. Currently we're using the system to protect laptops and desktops that are deployed in the field, sales locations, work from home, and our offices. The implementation will include protecting logins to our servers, a Remote Desktop Web portal, and Office 365. Having AD in an Azure Hybrid environment does allow us monitor and control logins, but the AuthPoint system allows us to further protect user logins from a compromised password.
- The tokens are easy to deploy
- Transferring tokens is a quick and intuitive process.
- The system provides several fail safes for a lost token.
- The AD synchronization feature is not in an intuitive place in the portal
- There can be a delay in authentication if the PC hasn't been rebooted recently
- The hardware token sold by WatchGuard are on the large side.
- User adoption has been mostly positive.
We have been working with JSCM group. They have been very professional, accommodating, and have kept us in the loop as implmentation has progressed. Working with JSCM has made this a smooth implementation. It's been a great benefit for us to take questions and concerns back to the project team and get reliable answers.
Having our firewalls and other cloud services provided under one pane of glass has been very effective. There is less struggle trying to find what service is causing an issue when we can address all systems from one location.
In our case we are currently using WatchGuard firewalls to connect locations and to provide VPN. Having the brand familiarity with our employees, particularly those using the VPN clients, has put some concerns to rest as we've asked employees to install the WatchGuard AuthPoint app on their mobile devices.
The biggest gain for us using AuthPoint vs Microsoft's Authenticator is that we could protect employee logins on their local computer systems, regardless of location. With such a large portion of our computer equipment residing in homes or in storefront locations, there was a very real concern with data protection. The Logon App's ability to protect devices in any location with any network connectivity state resolved a major objective for our security footprint.
