Panda Security for Desktops (legacy product)

Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard EPDR

Endpoint protection for all desktops, laptops, and servers. We utilize it for antivirus, anti malware, zero day as well as endpoint firewall and device control management. Some workstations also utilize the web control management. We utilize this as our primary EDR in coincidence with other best practices to maximize our security strategy.

Cost to feature is readily better over competitors (either feature wasn’t available from competitor OR the cost was less for WatchGuard as opposed to the competitor).

No known breaches to date, software runs as expected and allows for cloud based control as opposed to an on-site control instance.

Having WatchGuard has never taken down our operations from a poor software update.

No one is perfect but as far as use of the software, setting up profiles, installation and day to day use, it’s quite straightforward and works well. Dashboards are informative without overloading details and create a single point of reference when reviewing potential vulnerabilities and threats. All around we enjoy the product.
With the cloud-based management approach, it allows for a much simpler point of access for our security staff. We don’t have to be at our desks 24/7 to manage security feature and access, which allows us to engage our customer base (our employees) to better gauge the threatscape and maintain a better security posture.
We like it as primary defense. It certainly helps minimize attack surfaces. Their support department is limited - hopefully this has better improved since we implemented 18 months ago, but it took 3 weeks to just get the initial license issued and activated. They were also international so coordinating time schedules was slightly painful. We also ran into an issue where the initial version of the software worked with one of our application, but halfway thru implementation, the software changed, prevented the software from working and their engineers couldn’t resolve what had changed to fix the issue. Some systems are still on the older version.
