Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security

I've been using WatchGuard Network Security as my main security equipment for the last 4 years and it works great. We use it to connect with other companies with the Branch Office VPN tunnels and it connects really easily. We also use it as our main firewall to protect our private servers and to apply navigation policies to our users to make the use of the internet more efficient.

Pros

  • It is really good as a firewall.
  • It works great with branch office VPN tunnels because it connects really well with other brands.
  • Navigation policies are easy to configure.

Cons

  • It is really dificult to find port mirroring option.
  • It is possitive. The cost of the product is really good. A lot of great options and features for a the amount payed.
Yes, I did work with a WatchGuard partner. The experience was really good for the purchase and implementation. I've got all y needed fast and efficiently. The annual license renew are easy to get and the partner sends me everything in time and with all the information I need to know.
The key insight is that you really need to have a clear idea of what you want to get, control and reach. After this, all the rest is that you need to have clear and effective communication with the WatchGuard partner for the implementation. All the rest is easy.
The simplified packaging is great for the CIO or general manager to take a fast more accurate decision because you know is that you only need to buy one license package that contains everything the company needs for network security. This way the steps for purchasing and installing a license are really easy and fast to do.

The branch office VPN tunnels are really good. They are compatible with any other brand. In my case, we connect to other companies that provide financial services to our company and the VPN tunnel works great. The navigation policies are very accurate when I configure them to filter correct access to all my end users. The internet speed access seems to not be affected which is really good because it makes users navigate really well without any problem.
