WatchGuard Security, it's red for a reason (fast, powerful, easy)
Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security
I personally use WatchGuard firewalls at my office. As a leading UTM appliance it allows us to be compliant, have logging (via Dimensions), proxy filtering, etc... That said, we use WatchGuard because it is what we help our customers buy and use too.
Pros
- Easy to administer, via web or system manager (install app)
- Proxy and App filtering
- Multiple interfaces and VLANs
- VPNs
Cons
- Global objects that can be used across policies, etc...
- SNAT being accessible from the policy setup
- Custom Policy types more easily accessible
- 25% reduction in management/administration over Cisco
- Subscription on multi year is a value
We work with Blue Alley to help our clients purchase their WatchGuard products. We have been very happy with BA's service and pricing.
This is a huge value as it saves time. We have clients with multiple firewalls and we can manage them from a single pane of glass.
We just use the cloud logging and DNS service for a few of our clients, but it really does help simplify things and make it easier and quicker to manage
WatchGuard is hands down better, from state side service, to pricing and performance in most cases, to ease of management.
