Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security

As a managed service provider, we've used WatchGuard Network Security fireboxes as our "platform" of choice for our customer firewall deployments. We employ the Watchguard Total Security Suite to ensure that our customer networks are fully protected. on deployments where there are multi-site, we use the BoVPN and SD-WAN to direct traffic to appropriate sites and resources.
  • Training
  • Partner Program
  • Demo/NFR Units
  • Network Switches are not in the portfolio
  • The wireless devices are nice, but don't seem to fit our stack for the pricepoint.
  • At least in my situation, Authpoint is difficult to sell when compared to other identity providers.
  • At our parent organization, we completely switched from Cisco Meraki to WatchGuard Network Security Fireboxes, which gave us better control as well as better ROI for features. We replaced 5 Meraki Security Appliances with WG Fireboxes
  • There are several more models and licensing options that allow us to taylor fit a unit to each of our customers. We've deployed 11 devices in the past 2 years.
  • As stated in previous questions, I wish that I was aware of a competitive Non-Profit program.
The Managed Service Provider of my organization is a WatchGuard Network Security partner, so we did not need the services of an outside organization.
We have not yet utilized this feature. We have been reluctant to use the unified cloud platform, since as a part of our SOP we have on-site devices to automate setup and monitoring. I believe that in the future we may find that this will help us to be more nimble.
The only cloud product we currently use is the DNSwatch platform. This has allowed us to ensure that our user base is fully protected even when they are not on a WatchGuard Network Security protected site. We use the DNSwatch Go softare for those particular users.
I would much prefer utilizing WatchGuard Network Security. When stacked against any Unifi product, WatchGuard Network Security is vastly superior. When compared with Meraki, I have much greater control over WatchGuard Network Security Fireboxes. When compared to fortinet or other cisco products, I believe the value and ROI is much more tangible.

Do you think WatchGuard Network Security delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with WatchGuard Network Security's feature set?

Yes

Did WatchGuard Network Security live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of WatchGuard Network Security go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy WatchGuard Network Security again?

Yes

I've found that the WatchGuard Network Security line of NG firewalls to be comparable to the big players, and are far more approachable. Meaning that in combination with the training provided and software available, i am able to empower lower tiers of techs to do great work. The only place that I have not found it to be appropriate is in situations where the customer is ultra price conscious, such as non-profits.
