Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security

We are an MSP that primarily services and deploys WatchGuard physical and cloud firewalls to our partners. The WatchGuard OS is easy to navigate and use to identify issues, and monitor network traffic. WatchGuard Network Security system manager is also excellent for managing devices that have http/s management disabled or when using a browser based connection is not optimal.

Pros

  • Remote management of interfaces
  • Great live traffic monitor interface
  • Simple to use VPN configuration

Cons

  • The interface for rule configuration, especially for VoIP services, could be cleaned up
  • A better migration tool to migrate configuration files from firewalls of differing manufacture to a WatchGuard device would be incredibly helpful and would save on man-hours, and eliminate possible human error when re-creating policies and rules
  • The WatchGuard Network Security system manager makes it easy to make quick fixes for firewalls that are experiencing issues.
WatchGuard Network Security cloud firewalls are easy to use and mange. They are easy to set up, configure, and deploy. Having an always accessible cloud security product is invaluable for our partners cloud servers and deployments.
The SonicWall Migration tool is simple and easy to use.
The Sonicwall NSM is a great feature to allow techs to view and configure the security devices for all the tenants they manage in a single pane of glass.

I think WatchGuard Network Security devices are great firewalls and the WSM makes managing multiple devices easy and intuitive.

Something to possibly look into is a similar implementation to the Sonicwall NSM where techs, especially in MSP environments, have the ability to view and manage devices from a single pane of glass.
