Overall Satisfaction with Webex App
We use the Webex App as part of our Cisco phone system. Individual users have the option of using a hardware phone for voice, along with Webex for team communication and meetings. I use the Webex app as a softphone as well. This enables full mobility for phone and communications, whether I'm in my home office or traveling.
- It's easy to start up an impromptu meeting or screen share.
- The APIs and programability features are extensive.
- Webex gives you an option to not show video from other users, to save bandwidth when on a metered connection.
- It's a cloud service and it's not 100% reliable. I know everyone else's cloud services have the same problems, but it's still frustrating.
- The Webex App is new and has progressed greatly in functionality in the last year. The flip side is that if you're moving over from Jabber or some other mature product, there are still certain features that haven't been added yet to Webex. But feature parity improves in each monthly release.
- My previous softphone was Skype for Business. One thing I liked about S4B was that it worked well as a small main window, with separate windows for separate IM conversations, not trying to own my screen. Webex wants everything in one window and isn't really useful if you try to shrink it down.
- It's enabled increased mobility for users.
