Overall Satisfaction with Webex App

We use the Webex App as part of our Cisco phone system. Individual users have the option of using a hardware phone for voice, along with Webex for team communication and meetings. I use the Webex app as a softphone as well. This enables full mobility for phone and communications, whether I'm in my home office or traveling.
  • It's easy to start up an impromptu meeting or screen share.
  • The APIs and programability features are extensive.
  • Webex gives you an option to not show video from other users, to save bandwidth when on a metered connection.
  • It's a cloud service and it's not 100% reliable. I know everyone else's cloud services have the same problems, but it's still frustrating.
  • The Webex App is new and has progressed greatly in functionality in the last year. The flip side is that if you're moving over from Jabber or some other mature product, there are still certain features that haven't been added yet to Webex. But feature parity improves in each monthly release.
  • My previous softphone was Skype for Business. One thing I liked about S4B was that it worked well as a small main window, with separate windows for separate IM conversations, not trying to own my screen. Webex wants everything in one window and isn't really useful if you try to shrink it down.
  • It's enabled increased mobility for users.
Webex's official support has been notoriously slow and inept. However, there are online spaces, such as within the Webex Ambassador group, where you can get excellent support, both from other users and from Cisco employees.

Do you think Webex App delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Webex App's feature set?

Yes

Did Webex App live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Webex App go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Webex App again?

Yes

It gets the job done, but I'd like it better if it were more "behind the scenes" rather than trying to own the whole screen. The Webex app doesn't work well as a small window off to the side, which is what you want when its primary use is as a softphone.
I work in IT support, and it works well as a screen sharing and remote control tool. I used Webex Meetings for years before this, and that functionality is now part of the new Webex app. The URL for my "personal room" is short enough that I can just read it to the customer if they're not able to receive my email, and it loads quickly for them.
