Overall Satisfaction with WebEx Meetings

In my organization it seems that every department utilizes WebEx. From department to department, or with people around the states. We often have volunteers or off campus employees that are needed in meetings with sharing screens being a major aspect of these meetings. I often use WebEx for free webinars too. Typically they have no issues with video or audio, but there have been times that audio is clipped out or lagged.
  • Convenient for multiple users in not a single location.
  • Easy to use for even the non technical person. When I have had a problem, there seems to be a a next step information available.
  • Multiple uses for WebEx.
  • Some times the quality of video is lower than expected. That could be on the person hosting the meeting though.
  • Some buttons or navigation could be easier to find and manage.
  • Audio quality can cut in and out if too many people are in on the meeting.
  • WebEx helps bring people together for a meeting when not everyone can be present. This can help with communication for projects and anything important on the table that needs accomplishing.
  • WebEx has been used by me many times for webinars from various companies. From eLearnings, to classroom type settings, and just an informative webinar have all been used.
I have only used Vimeo Pro for the aspect of a pre-recorded video, which sometimes can be just as useful as a WebEx webinar. The down side is the audience/student participation is not a feature. I have not used Vimeo Pro to know if they have that feature or not.
When someone isn't available for a meeting in person, WebEx Meetings is a great tool. WebEx can help with screen views, video, audio, and text. All these forms of communication can help keep meetings seamless and communication for projects accurate.

Using WebEx Meetings

There are some user experience issues that could be cleared up. Just the ease of use and ease of finding navigational or extra features can be tricky and not intuitive.

  • Once I was connected, the system is pretty easy to use. There are step by step instructions on how to connect.
  • The fact they must send specific step by step instructions on the use of the platform shows it can be a little tricky to use.
  • Some of the navigation items are harder to find. For example, the mute button is typically already pressed but since I personally didn't press it, I don't think it is.
  • The audio can be tricky to hear, and deciding how I want to listen can be a task in itself.
Yes - The mobile aspect can also be tricky. If I am on mobile and want to use the browser, it almost forces me to use the app. But it is nice I am able to multitask on a tablet in order to listen, participate and be productive.
