Overall Satisfaction with WeTransfer

It is used to to transfer big files (e.g. several GB). This is quite common when dealing with media files and when working with parties outside of your organization. It's a safe and reliable way to share large files while saving storage during the transfer process.

  • It could incorporate a folder system in file upload to be preserved
  • Password protection for downloading the files
  • Fast upload and fast download - time saving
I am generally very satisfied with the service. The free version alone takes care of 90% of my needs. The same holds for a lot of other people. It's a very smart business model as it gained mass market appeal (e.g. personal use) and thereby carries a lot of trust. I also never had issues using it.
I prefer WeTransfer as it automatically deletes the shared files after X number of days. It forces the recipient to save the file rather than rely on you to keep it stored in the cloud (e.g. Google Drive) for his for years to come. It essentially transfers the responsibility onto them.

It's well suited for professional and personal needs. It's great for anyone working with design, videos, etc. It's also great for client work as most people are already well aware of the service (they may use it for their personal needs) and tend to trust it. I suppose it's less appropriate in case you're looking for a long term cloud storage of your files.
