Overall Satisfaction with Widen
Acquia DAM (Widen) is our company's global digital asset management system for all marketing and sales tools. This includes campaign artwork. The system provides a single source of truth for all assets. It has unified or global regional offices, allowed us to have better brand control, time-saved internally looking for files, clarity around rights management as well as integrate with other systems (inventory system and sales portal) so no duplication of assets or repositories and ensuring proper version control just to name a few!
- Product road map. They never stop improving the product and are transparent with the user community of what is planned and wherein the process they are at
- Software - intuitive, flexible
- Acquia DAM (Widen) staff, culture and knowledge library and chat support
- Acquia DAM (Widen) user community - Acquia DAM (Widen) creates interaction within their user community both by annual events (Acquia DAM (Widen) Summit) but also by creating a user forum where administrators can engage with other administrators to problem solve, share best practices or learn about other tools or integrations that are being used. They also have the WUG - Acquia DAM (Widen) user groups where we meet virtually to discuss a particular top (i.e. Dam Governance, Training, etc.). It is priceless
- Acquia DAM (Widen) has rolled out some cool features that make it easier for administrators to keep up with assets in portals. However, it can't be used with dependent fields in your taxonomy which makes it a feature I can't use. This needs to be solved. The features need to work with all taxonomies.
- Portal asset searching. The search for assets feature is lacking. It should be as robust and easy to target what you are looking for as it is in the DAM (assets) tool.
- Portals
- Robust and flexible search
- Download conversions
- Multiple ways to share (email, share link)
- Batch uploading, editing and the metadata importer
- The versatility of the dashboard design and the ability to have the dashboard be unique to user groups.
- Collections
- Saved countless internal man-hours eliminating the need to search for files or the cost of duplicating assets.
- Streamlined workflows - having a central repository allowed us to build global workflows for product asset creation which saved $80,000 in year one.
- Speed to market for launch materials. Agencies create the material and upload it directly into our DAM. Administrators tag and create a campaign portal with the assets and provide a share link which brand managers then share out in either communication or embedded in a toolkit quickly getting materials out to sales and distributor or regional partners.
We have grown it from a regional DAM to a global one in the last two years so we have made that leap. Now we are focusing our efforts on improved user experience (role-based dashboards, creating a help center) and integrating it with other systems. We are currently implementing a PIM solution and will connect our DAM to PIM for product imagery.
We have a centralized DAM that stores all of our global content. Through the use of the API, we are able to tag assets for a regional portal, pushing only that relevant content to our US sales team. We also have integrated with our inventory system, using rules for product assets, it pulls in the identified product metadata and automatically tags the asset. Using share links we are able to populate our assets in our syndication tool for publishing to retailers.
I have implemented DAM and this company and my previous Fortune 500 employer and have included many other products in the RFP process. Acquia DAM (Widen)'s a road map, support, product, and user community sharing is unparalleled.
