Overall Satisfaction with WordPress

  • Scalable.
  • Flexible.
  • Easy to implement.
  • Easy to maintain.
  • Customizable.
  • As in any open source CMS, it require some eucation (fortunately largely available online).
  • Increased employee efficiency
  • Improved content management
The plugin ecosystem made the difference.
I'll first recommend to go to the .org version - I'm not a big fan of Wordpress.com since you can't access the code. Then I'll check if a CMS is the best option for the project. If a CMS is a solution Wordpress would be the way to go.

Using WordPress

The system is working perfectly and the activity of the community makes it the perfect scalable solution, with new innovative models and security updates frequently posted.

Evaluating WordPress and Competitors

Yes - It replaced Joomla - Joomla's support and community was fading away, and the CMS was not updated as often as before. The CMS core principles were getting too complex and too cumbersome for our projects.
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Prior Experience with the Product
The fact that the platform is open source with a dynamic community made the whole deal - it means regular security updates, frequent feature updates and innovation to keep up with web developments.

WordPress Support

Despite the fact it's an open source community without dedicated support paid team, the support is actually excellent with great feedback.
Good followup
Problems get solved
Not kept informed
Escalation required
Support doesn't seem to care
No - Choosing to go with the wordpress.org (open source self hosted) implementation, we made the choice of going with an open source community, without official SLA. But the community is one of the strongest and most dynamic in the open source world making it a safe bet.
Yes - Absolutely

Using WordPress

Elegant interface, excellent community, brilliant and innovative features.
Like to use
Relatively simple
Easy to use
Well integrated
Feel confident using
Lots to learn
  • The plugin integration system was brilliantly integrated at the time, and the community has been improving it since then.
  • The core system updates keep improving platform's functionality and security
  • The differences between wordpress.org and wordpress.com makes it confiusing for beginners.
  • Wordpress has been labelled for years as a blogging platform - it needs to be rebranded as a powerful CMS platform.
