Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are currently using Workato to automate external requests from our constituents. Workato allows us to automate assignments to different members of the team based on specific logic and it works like a charm.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Easy to follow automations.
Lots of apps to connect to.
Great support staff.
Fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it.

Cons

Some logic is complex and could be presented differently.
Quite expensive given that you can only connect three apps at the starter level of the scale
Sometimes it's not clear why the recipe has crashed. Even for technical minded teams in software engineering the descriptions are vague and don't specify whether the failure is during trigger, transit, or something else.

Likelihood to Recommend

Workato is suited where the logic of automation is clearly mapped on the user's end so once it's set, you can leave it alone and it does its magic. It's not suited for constantly changing processes in my view as the effort to dismantle and rebuild is high.
