https://media.trustradius.com/product-logos/hp/iu/QTZMIG9HWJHI.PNGWorkato was, and still is, just what the doctor ordered for our automation needs!Workato is being used by the central IT/development department of the company and is an invaluable tool to bridge the gap between many pieces of software that Jumia uses for various purposes. We use Workato for a variety of situations, like listening to specific data events in some applications and triggering the appropriate actions, either in the same application or others or even in several applications at the same time (for instance, some JIRA changes trigger Zendesk updates and Slack notifications). We also use Workato to perform regular automated tasks to detect information patterns that are meaningful to the company for various reasons (for instance, some JIRA tickets are checked regularly to calculate performance KPIs, used in dev team's appraisals). Another use is to uphold the proper workflow and promote communication between teams (when certain things happen in Zendesk tickets, other teams are involved in the ticket automatically and Slack notifications are triggered). We have many many of these situations being covered by Workato recipes and using it doesn't occupy our dev teams, someone with only a fair knowledge of programming logic can use Workato's powerful yet simple interface and features.,The interface is brilliant. It doesn't take a programmer or engineer to use it, although it helps to have a good sense of logic and a general understanding of how APIs and Workato itself work. It's intuitive (very simple to learn and use) and robust (I can't remember any recent issues with the interface). Workato connects tons of different software applications and does so brilliantly. New applications keep getting added. And if for some reason one is not supported yet, we still have the ability to use generic REST to connect to its API and get the job done. Workato keeps rolling out new features and interface improvements and above all, with no impact whatsoever. It's always improving and no negative impact is ever felt. It's a constant "Hey, this is new!" and that is very cool. Workato support is top notch. If you do have an issue or question, they're always available for a workshop, call, email or chat, and issues get tackled. Technical issues, however, are very rare, the platform is very robust and we can count on it for important functions. And if something comes does come up, the reporting and monitoring side of things are also effective, with emails being sent and lots of log details to analyze whatever issue occurred. User opinions matter. Workato does listen to its users. Over time they have implemented lots of user suggestions, including some I had supported as well. That's what listening to the customer is all about.,Most of the really important features have already been tackled over time (at least the ones I'm interested at the moment). But there are always a few details I keep hoping they release, like commenting out specific steps (or entire blocks of code) for debug purposes, usage thresholds per recipe, copying sections from recipe to recipes, that sort of thing. But nothing I'd call major missing features.,10,The impact is clearly positive but I can't really quantify it, to be honest. I can say we have well over 100 different recipes connecting many different applications (with several different instances of them) and that goes a long way to ensure we do our job the way it should be done and with the level of quality and effectiveness we need. Workato helps make it possible. In fact, it would very very hard to maintain all the different aspects of our job if we didn't have Workato connecting most of the applications we use. The benefits for us range from: solid data syncing between support applications to proper support and development workflow enforcement to proper communication between teams to automated maintenance and reporting tasks. We use Workato for a lot of different purposes and we are able to do it all easily and without having specialists involved.,Zapier,Zendesk, Slack, JIRA Software, Atlassian Confluence, Jira Service Desk, GoodDataWorkato Transforms OrganizationsWorkato is both instrumental in core processes within Sales, Marketing, and Human Resources (CRM / 3rd Party Tools Integration) as well as a tool in developing proof of concepts that integrate our core platform with other systems (Salesforce, Dropbox, for instance), and leveraged by our solutions consultants and best practices teams.,Clear interface for intuitively creating powerful work flows Insight/visibility to the status of jobs run, including key information at all steps useful for troubleshooting support for a large array of relevant connectors, with flexibility to customize if not available,Customer support - responsive, but often not equipped to help efficiently identify root cause of issue. Need to improve escalation to technical resources and turnaround time Recipe organization and sharing. Can be challenging to copy recipes, or grab recipes from publicly available site. There are often dependencies and errors that have vague descriptions.,9,Workato has enabled streamlining between key business systems such as CRM, Marketing Automation, and HR Operations; this has undoubtedly saved development effort and does not require a developer with coding skills to maintain. We have 2-3 business operations experts that are very skilled in solving problems and business process improvement. They use Workato to solve those problems and require very little pure programming to solve these problems. There's always the off case but it's the exception rather than the rule. Workato has been a great tool to quickly create prototypes for our customers that integration our platform with other systems. Solutions Engineering can create production-ready applications in hours, and there is essentially zero cost to move from prototype to production. Because of the rich connector Library, Workato has enabled use cases that make our platform and offering stickier, as we are able to position more complete solutions to our customers (which thus command more value). The solutions are differentiated as we can prove & deliver them very quickly, and if the connector does not exist Workato's solutions team is very open to partnering to help us create the SDK connector.,Dell Boomi and Zapier,Quick Base, Gliffy, Microsoft 365 Business, Slack, Postman, OneNote, ZoomWorkato is extremely powerful in workflow/process automation and connecting a plethora of cloud-based platforms/systems.Workato has been adopted by our entire organization; Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, IT, HR, Finance, PD, and more. The major business problem that Workato solves is connecting Quick Base (our platform) to other software platforms used by the above-mentioned departments, such as NetSuite, Zuora, Outlook, JIRA, Marketo, Box, Paylocity, and others that have open APIs. These connections allow us to have sources of truth in QB or to grab data from other sources of truth, like the financial platforms we use, and to then use QB to analyze that data. In addition to that, Workato is leveraged to connect QB to QB so that data can be passed seamlessly and instantly between applications.,Workato is very easy to pick up and use. You'll be creating complex recipes within days. The UI, workflow, formulas, and other features are very intuitive. Workato is very powerful. The native connectors it has to hundreds of software already, allows users to make substantial automation and integrations, but the HTTP connector makes it seem like it has no boundaries. If you are using software that isn't a native Workato connector but it has an API, you can use their HTTP connector to make calls to and from. Workato is always making improvements to its platform. This includes adding more connectors, more features, updating current connectors to be more powerful, or expanding on other tools it offers.,I have no suggestions for improvement at this time.,10,Big time positive impact on ROI. Using Workato has removed the need to hire integration or script developers and allowed us to move faster with projects by reducing the time of design, test, implementation, etc.Clear leader and best features in the iPaas marketAt MCF Tech we have added Workato to our offerings for our clients. We have extensive experience in the integrations space. Workato has helped make integrations so much simpler, and allows us to serve our clients in a better capacity. We are also using Workato for our own internal processes to help automate certain processes, increase collaboration with our teams, and experiment with different systems.,The Workato Slack Bot and Microsoft Teams Bot are amazing for automating workflows directly from these engagement layers, and allows users to perform actions in various systems without leaving their IM client. Using Workato to integrate from the source of data to other systems, for example from a CRM in Sharepoint to an operational database in Quick Base, makes for much better collaboration, sharing of data, cross-departmental report and visibility, and many other benefits to both IT and business users. Workato has allowed us to move more away from custom coded integrations that can be very cumbersome to maintain and require a server to host. Now integrations are at our fingertips and can be maintained very easily, without any additional servers needed for hosting the integration.,I would like the ability to temporarily deactivate a step or series of process steps, in order to test changes in subsequent steps.,10,As business consultants, Workato has greatly improved our offerings to our clients as well as improved the time frame to implement automated workflows and integrations. For our clients, the return on investment is almost immediate. Once a Workato recipe is up and running (which can be done very fast), data is integrating, duplicate data entry and user errors are eliminated, and cross-company KPI metrics are easier to report than ever.,,Talend Data Integration, Actian Pervasive Data Integrator, Zapier, .NETThe Future...WorkatoCurrently, we've implemented Workato in the XPO Last Mile client data integration department, however it is slowly spreading across the other divisions of the enterprise as they learn about it. For Last Mile, Workato addresses gaps in our enterprise platform and provides seamless integration for internal or B2B use cases leveraging the APIs exposed by both parties.,Most use cases require no code! Imagine connecting 2 applications without writing a single line of code...it almost feels futuristic Not having to download anything locally to use the product. Workato runs fully out of the browser The number of out-of-the-box connectors that offer turn-key solutions to business problems,Customization has a bit of a learning curve associated with it. Be prepared to expand your programming knowledge for any deep customization, however having the option to customize is critical Online training material is out there, but can be a bit cumbersome to read through and retain. More straight-forward online training material would help 10 fold,10,Development time is where we'll incur most cost. Time-to-market is unreal with Workato, which cascades into tremendous cost savings realized We haven't felt any negative implications to ROI to date,IBM API Connect and Anypoint Platform,Visual Studio IDE, SQL Server Integration Services, Azure SQL DatabaseFast and easy automationWorkato is primarily being used as an automation and integration tool. We used it for the following use-cases: Foreign currency rate integration and triangulation. We are receiving an XML file from our parent company on a daily basis and we integrate the rates into Netsuite. As an additional requirement, we have to perform a currency triangulation for some currency pairs which don't exist on the source file. Workato was able to perform the calculation with a simple formula.Customer on-boarding from Salesforce into Netsuite.Transfer XML file from Netsuite to bank sFTP with sign and encrypt. One requirement is to message the user through Slack whether the file transfer is a success or failure. Integrate cash payments from Excel into Netsuite by creating a callable recipe. With the callable recipe, we were able to use our existing Excel tools without a complete redesign. We simply changed the ERP API connectors that we use to bring over payment records into our new ERP system.Using Slack workbot to get customer information from Netsuite. Users may now get customer balances or transactions through Slack by just typing in keywords. They no longer have to log into Netsuite. This is particularly helpful if a customer support person is talking with a customer over the phone.,Process automation with multiple SaaS applications. It's easy to move records from one SaaS application to another. User-friendly. Users need minimal technical knowledge to start using Workato. The workflow-oriented user interface makes the recipe easy to understand. The recipe is described in plain English and not in some technical jargon. It has a look of built-in functions which are particularly helpful for non-technical users. I've seen functions in Workato which are usually not readily available in some other tools like. Slack workbot integration. Easy to create recipes and Wizard-based recipe creation is available for beginners. Technical support is 5 out of 5. They are always available on the chat room whenever you need them.,I would be nice to have a more automated deployment process like automatically changing connections when a recipe is deployed into prod.,9,Faster time to market versus other integration tools. No need for technical experts. Business users can use the tool. No negative impacts, so far.,Dell Boomi, Talend Data Integration and Informatica Enterprise Data Integration,Microsoft SQL Server, Dell Boomi, Talend Data Integration, Informatica Enterprise Data Integration,2,1,Exchange rate triangulation and integration into Netsuite. Salesforce integration. Slack workbot.,Slack conversational workbot.,High volume invoice integration into Netsuite.,9,9,Yes,Wizard based recipe creation. Workflow based user interface.,No,10My new best friendWe use Workato both internally and recommend it to many of our clients as well. Internal: Workato has been fantastic in helping us automate workflows and connect our systems. It's just a fantastic 'ace' in the hole that we continually pull out when we're scratching our heads on a solution. I have yet to say no to the question 'can we do this with Workato?' Our Clients: In the 8+ years I have been doing professional services and consulting, I wish I would have had Workato with me the entire time. As a business analyst by trade, the ability to gather requirements and show a client a POC by the end of the same day (without consulting my development team!); I have felt like my skill-set has doubled since using Workato. We rarely take on a project these days where integration to another system isn't a critical requirement. It's been wonderful to have a tool in our box that can solve what can sometimes be showstoppers in a project from an effort and budgeting perspective. We've solved all sorts of problems, from things as simple as keeping document links from Box in sync between multiple web apps, to deep connectivity with on-prem apps that had been in IT's backlog for a decade.,Truly no-code: I am not a developer, but can now do the work of two. Enhancing their product: constant updates and improvements. An easy and intuitive UI. Fantastic logging.,I'd love to see more a-la-carte pricing options. Some kind of email trigger/parsing capability is a must.,10,Much faster and less expensive development cycles. Easy to tweak and change as our business grows saves a lot of money. The ability to leverage existing recipes for future needs has been huge.,Zapier, Dell Boomi and Microsoft FlowWorkato: Great tool with amazing UIThe business applications team uses Workato to develop recipes to sync data between NetSuite, Salesforce and Concur. Our stakeholders are primarily the Customer Success and Finance departments. We use it as a real-time webhook listener. We send outbound messages from NetSuite and Salesforce to the webhook recipe which in turn processes the data, transforms it and syncs with other systems.,Extremely user-friendly and intuitive UI and we could get on-board with the recipe creation process in no time. Lot of out-of-the-box connectors that really makes life easier for recipe developers. Great logging functionality that stores data up to a year depending on the license and settings. Amazing technical support: Whenever we had some specific questions on Workato, the solution engineers at Workato were pretty quick in responding and gave really good inputs on a workaround.,Slightly limiting in functionality: The recipes can be limiting in some cases. For instance, we do not have a direct way to update a variable in the recipe at various points. Filtering on logs: We have standard filtering on logs based on the job status and date of run. However, It would be extremely useful to filter on logs based on various custom columns that we can create.,10,Yet to determine the ROI: However, the time saved from building connections and APIs from scratch is huge.,Talend Open StudioReduce your headaches and share more data with Workato! We utilize Workato for nearly all job functions within our organization. As a reseller and integration specialist shop, we also implement and use Workato with nearly every client we interact with. It connects our CRM and PM tools to our ERP. We create automations within our systems and automatically transfer files between clients and ourselves, as well as internally. All of our consultants are well versed in the product and can support both internal and external recipes.,Reduces time and overhead by thoroughly connecting systems and driving workflow. Allows seamless interaction among business units, saving headaches and painful hunting of data. Increases visibility among executives as you can consolidate many systems to one, creating executive level summaries.,The interface is extremely user-friendly, but the integrations might require some architecting. The simplicity might give a false sense of confidence, which could lead to failing recipes, and unsatisfied clients. Utilizing a partner can significantly increase effectiveness and time to market, which could save money overall.,10,The time to market or build complex recipes is unbelievable. We can create multiple recipes per week, whereas traditional API development takes multiple weeks per integration. The amount of backlog we're able to assist enterprise clients with vs internal IT is significantly higher than if we didn't use Workato. Businesses look to us to help them get to market more quickly with less stress.,ZapierSave time and money by integrating all your dataBroadly used across the organization for internal processes, sales demos, marketing, etc.,Ease of use/learning. Broad range of connectors/integrations with a broad array of systems. Fast and effective support, prompt in their response as well as following up and setting up follow up calls to get to the heart of the problem.,Administration isn't the best: having multiple users manage the same account or granting access to a company account is limited except for partners or at extra cost. High barrier to entry for smaller companies: increased pricing model is an inhibitor for smaller clients that could have limited but powerful use cases.,9,Extremely valuable at saving time and increasing visibility.,Zapier,Quick Base, HubSpot CRM, AsanaWorkato: they designed it with the customer in mindWe use Workato to integrate with customer ERP software, marketplaces, transport partners, and even to modify internal data from within our own software (extract, modify, insert). Integration is the key to a successful enterprise. All our information is updated in real-time across all software. Workato made it easy for us to quickly adopt integration and make it a key component of our value offering. From a tech perspective, I wanted the integration to be at arms-length and not connected to the software we're using internally. This way we can handle processing/transformation, move data into other software for analysis, and use third-party software more easily without impacting our core.,Visualize the process Custom API endpoints Customer service,Reporting and anomaly alerts A better way to organize the > 100 Recipes,10,We're relevant. We sell our services to modern customers who use newer software with diverse needs. We're competitive. We can do much more for our customers, faster. Cost-effective. We can scale without the need to hire more.,Dell Boomi, Jitterbit and Informatica Application ILM,Salesforce.com, Slack, Google DriveMy "desert island" integration toolIt is being used by some departments with intention to roll out to anyone in the organiation with a business need. We're currently using it to empower business users / non-engineers / power users to build integrations and automations with IT Engineering oversight/guidance, but without utilizing IT Engineering headcount.,Very low learning curve to get started. Amazing live-person tech support for more ambitious projects. Succeeds at core mission of bringing the power of systems integrations to new personas / profiles.,Custom security roles cannot be provisioned via SAML/JIT API. Team/User management design could better support the "citizen developer" use case. Slightly better troubleshooting features, specifically provide the full network dump when a recipe fails at the connection level during development.,10,During our pilot project, we were able to bootstrap our own registration and provisioning without any developer assitance. During our initial use case, we're having success building a user lifecycle management protoype with a very small team.,,10,Yes,They do it all the time, but as I ventured into writing my own custom connectors with their SDK, they provided several pieces of sample code for very specific use cases I had and their support channel was just as willing to help me with my own code as they were theirs. In my mind, my fear was thay anything custom was outside of their scope—and maybe it is contractually—but my experience was they always jumped right in and helped in any way they could.,Simple integrations based on a single row of data Creating a Slack integration or bot Anything involving Google Sheets or Google Drive With integrated Intercom support on every page, getting support is INSANELY EASY/GREAT,A lot of admin functions involving creating/updating/deleting users are possible, but not part of the core offering Even though JIT provisioning is supported, giving a large volume of users is not a well-optimized use case if you need to restrict them to a custom role/folder,10Made me love programming againWe use Workato mainly as a way to integrate the different systems we have. Our strategy is based on finding the best possible solution for every problem or area we have, then integrate them. Examples of these problems are the billing process where taking hours logged in different applications (such as Jira, Daptiv, Harvest, etc.) and converting them into invoices, can take the information from Project Management, Accounts and Finance. Another example is to have information flowing to the right person at the right time, like identifying the problems we have in our processes and automating reminders or actions requests using Workato and Slack.,No code builds of integration processes. Customer technical support. Extending their connectors through SDKs,Debugging a recipe can be painful. I have spent a lot of hours with customer support helping me and teaching me how to debug the recipes, but I think they could do a better job by coming up with some kind of debugging feature.,10,We reduced invoice errors to almost 0% in a few months. We created conversations using Slack and Workato to smooth processes and act when it is necessary, and requests actions to the right people at the right time to reduce errors and increase efficiency. We integrated with on-premise resources to leverage our own infrastructure. We might have another revenue generation possibility offering the implementation services of Workato to some of our clients.,ZapierSave time and money by automating you routine data management processes!Workato has fully automated the syncing process of our customer and sales data from our e-commerce solutions to Salesforce. It saves our organization thousands of dollars every year that would be allocated to data management and migration. It allows us to have complete customer profiles of our sales history, which helps us to increase our sales effectiveness.,Ease of Setup. Great support team. Custom configurations.,Could use more connectors.,10,It saves us time and money. There's no need to hire a person to manually upload data from one system to another.,Salesforce for Nonprofits, Shopify, MailchimpWorkato crushes data integrationWe are using Workato to orchestrate how information is shared across different systems where data is stored both in the cloud and on premise environments.,Ease of use. Workato is used to automate various IT processes to provision VPN, email and software licenses. This helps reduce the manual efforts done by the Help Desk and Account Management Team on a daily basis.,Integration with various cloud platform tools. Easy to integrate with cloud tools. No code required. Action available as ready-made and reduces development and production time. Very quick customer support where issues are fixed on the spot.,Copy function from one recipe to another recipe. Scroll through the recipe.,9,NA,Workato: Easy and Great to useWorkato is used as an integration platform to link the many different systems we use together. It is used across the whole organization.,Low code Quick to link different systems together Best support team I've ever worked with Easy to use,Better migration tool,10,Saves Time/Money Users are able to quickly build integrations in hours instead of weeks. A lot of our systems currently use Workato as the primary integration system. It has great error handling and is easy to use.Integration InspirationI use Workato to automate business processes throughout my company. It has allowed my team to drastically reduce our integration and deliver solutions to the business much more quickly. We use it to run critical business processes for nearly every department in the organization, including automated Opportunity Generation, Commission Calculation/Amortization, integrating our homegrown CRM and our Marketing Automation Platform, and several critical Finance integrations. We wouldn't be able to grow as fast without it.,Process Automation Microservices No code integration,Better governance Dependency Analysis,10,Able to deliver solutions much more quickly Reduced our integration backlog without increasing headcount,Zapier and Dell Boomi,Quick Base, Marketo, JIRA Software, Microsoft 365 Business, Outreach,Yes,10,It's one thing to ask for product support and expect a quick answer, but it's entirely different to come to a support portal with a business problem and find a willing partner on the other end. The team is eager to understand the issue holistically, and offers expert guidance when it comes time to implement. It's rare to find a support team that is willing to go above and beyond their normal call of duty, and truly understand the customer's issue before proposing a solution. They're more a team of engineers than traditional support reps.Workato is a WinnerWorkato is used as an intelligent automation platform to integrate complex systems across the enterprise. Before Workato, new interfaces would take several months of deep dive requirements analysis, expensive development, and thorough, resource-intensive quality testing. By implementing Workato, API and integration tasks can be completed in days instead of weeks, allowing for truly Agile implementation.,Dynamic integrations allow for rapid development, testing, and deployment Community Recipes leverage existing development and field mapping for accelerated integration Support for Bots,Communicate roadmap of new features, on-premises adapter capabilities,10,Extremely rapid development - a lab interface can be built in less than an hour. Workato lends itself to Agile development, meaning proving out designs and interface ideas quickly to assist with longer-term strategy decisions.,Mule ESB, Oracle Integration and Jitterbit,Mule ESB, Oracle Integration, JitterbitWorkato - flexible, powerful, easy to useIn our organization, Workato allows our product support team to communicate directly with our product development teams while allowing each side of that equation to use the software solution that best meets their needs. Workato ensures that our users aren't required to use multiple systems or enter their data twice and are always up to date, minimizing the time and effort required to solve often complex customer support issues.,Does not require developer resources to implement or maintain. Time to production is measured in hours including testing and end-user validation. Flexible, allows you to test multiple approaches to solving a business problem. Robust software that lets you build in error handling. Changes can be made in production during business hours without impacting your users. Exceptional and responsive support team,Improved support for Dynamics CRM data types like option sets. Larger online library of self serve resources, specifically around debugging new recipes.,10,Allowed us to migrate our support team to using Dynamics CRM full time to be in line with our sales and service teams and prevented them from needing to manage two different systems simultaneously.,SQL Server Integration Services and Dell Boomi,JIRA Software, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (formerly Microsoft Dynamics CRM), SQL Server Integration Services, Microsoft Power BI,NoWorkato always worksI personally use Workato to augment my systems and really make my workday easier to consume. From automation of alerts across multiple systems to keeping tracking of my-todos. No one system can do it all, and Workato doesn't mind what you are using, it just wants to make them all work together. I use it to manage projects, roadmaps, and personnel development. From Quick Base to Slack, I have a full-service helper to get my job done,I find the User Experience to be extremely easy to understand and get up and running with. Key connectors, and the right set of actions. It's rare to find things they don't have that I need. Features are incredibly well polished. Long-running steps, code snippets, a generic HTTP connector.... all of which are easy to understand and implement.,Navigation once you are building an app. It's always my header!,10,Speed to implementation. Full development skills not required! Let's more people impact the business. Automation of tasks, time saved!,Zapier and Microsoft Flow,Quick Base, SlackWorkato: One Stop for Integration SolutionWorkato is being used as an operational efficiency tool, integrating separate software solutions to drive business process improvement. The solution interacts with various departments throughout the organization (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Project Management) but is only visible to a few team members. The solution addresses information isolation, data entry and aligning the single source of truth throughout our organization. It assists us in aligning customer names, licensee information, lead generation, and marketing information throughout our organization.,Extremely friendly user-interface and platform. Easy to execute from a technical or functional role. This does not require a thorough knowledge in Rest/JSON/SOAP to quickly build out and test integrations. Support and professional service from the Company is phenomenal. Always direct, responsive and thorough, respectful of our allotted time and spend. The pricing plan is very generous. We continue to build out integrations in dev environments and when we determine they are successful, we can move into production and adjust our plans accordingly.,The primary emphasis I would recommend to Workato would be to continue to invest in additional pre-built feature sets. For example, certain API's wouldn't allow for an easy trigger. For example, on one particular integration, it only would trigger "new contacts" where I'd like to use this for updated as well. It took an hour of professional services to build a custom webhook. So I look at it both ways, it's beneficial you are able to execute this technique but it would be ideal to avoid that situation. Overall, continue to invest in the product. I would appreciate more flexibility around the job logs. The platform itself performs well with logging, however, the ability to extract isn't as simple.,10,Extremely high. Although always difficult to monetarily measure efficiency, this tool has eliminated countless hours of reconciling systems, emailing information, data entry and monitoring.,Jitterbit, Dell Boomi and VertifyData,NetSuite, Concur Expense, Adaptive InsightsA strong integration platform without the high price tagWorkato is used to connect our core CRM (Salesforce) with Xero (for accounting) and Harvest (for time tracking). It enables us to update client and project information once, and have the information disseminated across our operational systems while bringing back into Salesforce key data needed to serve our customers better. As a systems integrator ourselves, we've also implemented Salesforce into our client sites where we can not only create initial integrations but teach our clients how to add, manage, and improve their integrations in-house.,Easy to use interface allowing for non-technical people to create recipes for integrations. Flexibility to build your own connectors in the event that an off-the-shelf connector doesn't exist. Strong support despite the timezone difference (we're based in Australia).,Still growing out their library of pre-built connectors, sometimes feels other iPaaS providers have more available. When a recipe fails due to poor data inputs, unable to clear out the failed job (the only option is to have it re-run successfully).,10,Decreased manual processing to keep systems in sync, and reduced errors due to poor data. Sync is always reliable unlike other integration platforms we've used where it couldn't be trusted. As a services provider, gives us the agility to solve integration problems without adding significant cost and technical debt to the client.,Zapier,Salesforce App Cloud, Xero, HarvestPerfect for quick automation that works with minimal oversightWe are currently using Workato to automate external requests from our constituents. Workato allows us to automate assignments to different members of the team based on specific logic and it works like a charm.,Easy to follow automations. Lots of apps to connect to. Great support staff. Fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it.,Some logic is complex and could be presented differently. Quite expensive given that you can only connect three apps at the starter level of the scale Sometimes it's not clear why the recipe has crashed. Even for technical minded teams in software engineering the descriptions are vague and don't specify whether the failure is during trigger, transit, or something else.,8,Freed up time Eliminated meetings Built up scaleWhy work harder when you can Workato your process! We are using Workato to take processes that are manual and convert them to be automated. This is being used by IT and services that may touch IT. Some directives some from management as others are requested from different IT groups to look at solving their processes. We are trying to solve manual processes that are prone to error and repeated manual steps.,Easy to user interface Connections are easy to establish Simple recipes can be written by those without coding knowledge,Some connectors don't have fully set up functionality No easy way of getting reporting metrics Can't change the start date of a recipe once you run it once,9,We have been automating a lot of manual processes as a result of Workato. We have cut back the time to fulfill certain requests and remove the possibility of manual error of these tasks.,CA Automic Business Automation Platform

Workato is being used by the central IT/development department of the company and is an invaluable tool to bridge the gap between many pieces of software that Jumia uses for various purposes. We have many many of these situations being covered by Workato recipes and using it doesn't occupy our dev teams, someone with only a fair knowledge of programming logic can use Workato's powerful yet simple interface and features.
  • The interface is brilliant. It doesn't take a programmer or engineer to use it, although it helps to have a good sense of logic and a general understanding of how APIs and Workato itself work. It's intuitive (very simple to learn and use) and robust (I can't remember any recent issues with the interface).
  • Workato connects tons of different software applications and does so brilliantly. New applications keep getting added. And if for some reason one is not supported yet, we still have the ability to use generic REST to connect to its API and get the job done.
  • Workato keeps rolling out new features and interface improvements and above all, with no impact whatsoever. It's always improving and no negative impact is ever felt. It's a constant "Hey, this is new!" and that is very cool.
  • Workato support is top notch.
  • User opinions matter. Workato does listen to its users. Over time they have implemented lots of user suggestions, including some I had supported as well. That's what listening to the customer is all about.
  • Most of the really important features have already been tackled over time (at least the ones I'm interested at the moment). But there are always a few details I keep hoping they release, like commenting out specific steps (or entire blocks of code) for debug purposes, usage thresholds per recipe, copying sections from recipe to recipes, that sort of thing. But nothing I'd call major missing features.
Workato is brilliant to make separate applications work together without much effort or specialists being needed. When specific events on software A should trigger actions on B (or more) and you want that to happen without any development or big budgets, that's where Workato comes into play. It's a great help if you want tasks automated, communications flowing and data synced between different applications.

Workato is both instrumental in core processes within Sales, Marketing, and Human Resources (CRM / 3rd Party Tools Integration) as well as a tool in developing proof of concepts that integrate our core platform with other systems (Salesforce, Dropbox, for instance), and leveraged by our solutions consultants and best practices teams.
  • Clear interface for intuitively creating powerful work flows
  • Insight/visibility to the status of jobs run, including key information at all steps useful for troubleshooting
  • support for a large array of relevant connectors, with flexibility to customize if not available
  • Customer support - responsive, but often not equipped to help efficiently identify root cause of issue. Need to improve escalation to technical resources and turnaround time
  • Recipe organization and sharing. Can be challenging to copy recipes, or grab recipes from publicly available site. There are often dependencies and errors that have vague descriptions.
Well Suited
  • Business Process Work Flows, File Management, Small/Medium # of Records Queried (<~1000)
  • Closing a sales deal in system one kicks off work flows in system two for implementation
  • Notification of key events in system one via text, outlook event, etc
  • While I note management of two-way integrations needs improvement, it is a strength of Workato and easier to set up here than in any other tool.
  • Support for connectors business processes require (Docusign, Dropbox, Outlook, Quick Base, Salesforce, etc)
Needs Improvement -
  • Management of two-way integrations. It's often a bit of a struggle to create the appropriate fields in both systems to ensure redundant jobs are not run nor infinite loops created. That said, Workato does provide some documentation to counter this.
  • Working with Large Data Sets (1000+)

Workato has been adopted by our entire organization; Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, IT, HR, Finance, PD, and more. In addition to that, Workato is leveraged to connect QB to QB so that data can be passed seamlessly and instantly between applications.
  • Workato is very easy to pick up and use. You'll be creating complex recipes within days. The UI, workflow, formulas, and other features are very intuitive.
  • Workato is very powerful. The native connectors it has to hundreds of software already, allows users to make substantial automation and integrations, but the HTTP connector makes it seem like it has no boundaries. If you are using software that isn't a native Workato connector but it has an API, you can use their HTTP connector to make calls to and from.
  • Workato is always making improvements to its platform. This includes adding more connectors, more features, updating current connectors to be more powerful, or expanding on other tools it offers.
  • I have no suggestions for improvement at this time.
Workato is well suited for the following situations:
  • Increase process or workflow automation
  • Increase connectivity and communication between cloud-based software
  • Increase data visibility across the organization
  • Reduce scripting/development costs
  • Reduce manual data entry or manual processes
  • Reduce end-to-end time in integration implementation
  • Improve the volume of live data
  • Improve cross-functional data flow from different teams within your organization

At MCF Tech we have added Workato to our offerings for our clients. We have extensive experience in the integrations space. Workato has helped make integrations so much simpler, and allows us to serve our clients in a better capacity. We are also using Workato for our own internal processes to help automate certain processes, increase collaboration with our teams, and experiment with different systems.
  • The Workato Slack Bot and Microsoft Teams Bot are amazing for automating workflows directly from these engagement layers, and allows users to perform actions in various systems without leaving their IM client.
  • Using Workato to integrate from the source of data to other systems, for example from a CRM in Sharepoint to an operational database in Quick Base, makes for much better collaboration, sharing of data, cross-departmental report and visibility, and many other benefits to both IT and business users.
  • Workato has allowed us to move more away from custom coded integrations that can be very cumbersome to maintain and require a server to host. Now integrations are at our fingertips and can be maintained very easily, without any additional servers needed for hosting the integration.
  • I would like the ability to temporarily deactivate a step or series of process steps, in order to test changes in subsequent steps.
Workato is utterly amazing for all things related to integrations and automated workflows. As a note, Workato does not provide a space for custom user interfaces or web pages where user interaction is needed, with the exception of certain bots. However, this is not the intended purpose of the tool, and Workato can certainly be used in conjunction with UI's in any system.

Currently, we've implemented Workato in the XPO Last Mile client data integration department, however it is slowly spreading across the other divisions of the enterprise as they learn about it. For Last Mile, Workato addresses gaps in our enterprise platform and provides seamless integration for internal or B2B use cases leveraging the APIs exposed by both parties.
  • Most use cases require no code! Imagine connecting 2 applications without writing a single line of code...it almost feels futuristic
  • Not having to download anything locally to use the product. Workato runs fully out of the browser
  • The number of out-of-the-box connectors that offer turn-key solutions to business problems
  • Customization has a bit of a learning curve associated with it. Be prepared to expand your programming knowledge for any deep customization, however having the option to customize is critical
  • Online training material is out there, but can be a bit cumbersome to read through and retain. More straight-forward online training material would help 10 fold
Workato outfits our client data integration space perfectly. We're often tasked to create custom integration products between us and our vendors, and being able to provide a solution in the time-to-market pace that Workato offers often surprises our vendors. Low cost, on budget, on time...Workato is the secret sauce.

Workato Review: "Fast and easy automation"

Workato is primarily being used as an automation and integration tool. We used it for the following use-cases:
  1. Foreign currency rate integration and triangulation. We are receiving an XML file from our parent company on a daily basis and we integrate the rates into Netsuite. As an additional requirement, we have to perform a currency triangulation for some currency pairs which don't exist on the source file. Workato was able to perform the calculation with a simple formula.
  2. Customer on-boarding from Salesforce into Netsuite.
  3. Transfer XML file from Netsuite to bank sFTP with sign and encrypt. One requirement is to message the user through Slack whether the file transfer is a success or failure.
  4. Integrate cash payments from Excel into Netsuite by creating a callable recipe. With the callable recipe, we were able to use our existing Excel tools without a complete redesign. We simply changed the ERP API connectors that we use to bring over payment records into our new ERP system.
  5. Using Slack workbot to get customer information from Netsuite. Users may now get customer balances or transactions through Slack by just typing in keywords. They no longer have to log into Netsuite. This is particularly helpful if a customer support person is talking with a customer over the phone.
  • Process automation with multiple SaaS applications. It's easy to move records from one SaaS application to another.
  • User-friendly. Users need minimal technical knowledge to start using Workato. The workflow-oriented user interface makes the recipe easy to understand. The recipe is described in plain English and not in some technical jargon.
  • It has a look of built-in functions which are particularly helpful for non-technical users. I've seen functions in Workato which are usually not readily available in some other tools like.
  • Slack workbot integration. Easy to create recipes and Wizard-based recipe creation is available for beginners.
  • Technical support is 5 out of 5. They are always available on the chat room whenever you need them.
  • I would be nice to have a more automated deployment process like automatically changing connections when a recipe is deployed into prod.
It is well suited to multi-step process automation but not an RPA tool. Also not for big data, I think.

We use Workato both internally and recommend it to many of our clients as well.

Internal:
Workato has been fantastic in helping us automate workflows and connect our systems. It's just a fantastic 'ace' in the hole that we continually pull out when we're scratching our heads on a solution. I have yet to say no to the question 'can we do this with Workato?'

Our Clients:
In the 8+ years I have been doing professional services and consulting, I wish I would have had Workato with me the entire time. We've solved all sorts of problems, from things as simple as keeping document links from Box in sync between multiple web apps, to deep connectivity with on-prem apps that had been in IT's backlog for a decade.
  • Truly no-code: I am not a developer, but can now do the work of two.
  • Enhancing their product: constant updates and improvements.
  • An easy and intuitive UI.
  • Fantastic logging.
  • I'd love to see more a-la-carte pricing options.
  • Some kind of email trigger/parsing capability is a must.
I think Workato is best suited within IT organizations who want a single tool to absolutely crush their backlog. It's really easy to see the value when you know you can knock out projects 1-xx at a stable monthly cost. It is sometimes challenging to recommend when the user clearly has a need, but only a single need, and not much clout with IT or personal budget to draw from.

The business applications team uses Workato to develop recipes to sync data between NetSuite, Salesforce and Concur. Our stakeholders are primarily the Customer Success and Finance departments. We use it as a real-time webhook listener. We send outbound messages from NetSuite and Salesforce to the webhook recipe which in turn processes the data, transforms it and syncs with other systems.
  • Extremely user-friendly and intuitive UI and we could get on-board with the recipe creation process in no time.
  • Lot of out-of-the-box connectors that really makes life easier for recipe developers.
  • Great logging functionality that stores data up to a year depending on the license and settings.
  • Amazing technical support: Whenever we had some specific questions on Workato, the solution engineers at Workato were pretty quick in responding and gave really good inputs on a workaround.
  • Slightly limiting in functionality: The recipes can be limiting in some cases. For instance, we do not have a direct way to update a variable in the recipe at various points.
  • Filtering on logs: We have standard filtering on logs based on the job status and date of run. However, It would be extremely useful to filter on logs based on various custom columns that we can create.
Extremely well suited for straightforward integrations between systems (where a lot of data transformations and lookups are not involved). Due to its very user-friendly UI, it can be used by end-users too.

All of our consultants are well versed in the product and can support both internal and external recipes.
  • Reduces time and overhead by thoroughly connecting systems and driving workflow.
  • Allows seamless interaction among business units, saving headaches and painful hunting of data.
  • Increases visibility among executives as you can consolidate many systems to one, creating executive level summaries.
  • The interface is extremely user-friendly, but the integrations might require some architecting. The simplicity might give a false sense of confidence, which could lead to failing recipes, and unsatisfied clients. Utilizing a partner can significantly increase effectiveness and time to market, which could save money overall.
Workato is well suited anytime you've got data that needs to be connected or workflows that need to be triggered. Overall, it's an extremely favorable tool that cuts down on the cost to integrate major enterprise systems vs. traditional integration development efforts. It really does allow for a single 'source of truth' or 'hub and spoke' model among disparate systems.

Broadly used across the organization for internal processes, sales demos, marketing, etc.
  • Ease of use/learning.
  • Broad range of connectors/integrations with a broad array of systems.
  • Fast and effective support, prompt in their response as well as following up and setting up follow up calls to get to the heart of the problem.
  • Administration isn't the best: having multiple users manage the same account or granting access to a company account is limited except for partners or at extra cost.
  • High barrier to entry for smaller companies: increased pricing model is an inhibitor for smaller clients that could have limited but powerful use cases.
Works extremely well in companies with segmented teams/systems. Works as a fantastic tool to bring data across different systems to increase visibility and awareness. Excellent workflow generation tool when processes are defined or well understood by stakeholders.

We use Workato to integrate with customer ERP software, marketplaces, transport partners, and even to modify internal data from within our own software (extract, modify, insert). Integration is the key to a successful enterprise. All our information is updated in real-time across all software. Workato made it easy for us to quickly adopt integration and make it a key component of our value offering.

From a tech perspective, I wanted the integration to be at arms-length and not connected to the software we're using internally. This way we can handle processing/transformation, move data into other software for analysis, and use third-party software more easily without impacting our core.
  • Visualize the process
  • Custom API endpoints
  • Customer service
  • Reporting and anomaly alerts
  • A better way to organize the > 100 Recipes
We use it for many tasks. Some as light as a Google Sheets insert to some that have 50 step processes. It does the job well.

It is being used by some departments with intention to roll out to anyone in the organiation with a business need.

We're currently using it to empower business users / non-engineers / power users to build integrations and automations with IT Engineering oversight/guidance, but without utilizing IT Engineering headcount.
  • Very low learning curve to get started.
  • Amazing live-person tech support for more ambitious projects.
  • Succeeds at core mission of bringing the power of systems integrations to new personas / profiles.
  • Custom security roles cannot be provisioned via SAML/JIT API.
  • Team/User management design could better support the "citizen developer" use case.
  • Slightly better troubleshooting features, specifically provide the full network dump when a recipe fails at the connection level during development.
There's always more need for automations/integrations than there is supply of engineers/developers to build/maintain/support them. In a "desert island" scenario where if I had to pick one tool, it would be Workato. Not because it can do everything; because of the vast amount of things it's capable of, it does them exceedingly well. Making a powerful-but-approachable tool available to our workforce is key to scalaing because we are empowered to do more with less.

We use Workato mainly as a way to integrate the different systems we have. Another example is to have information flowing to the right person at the right time, like identifying the problems we have in our processes and automating reminders or actions requests using Workato and Slack.
  • No code builds of integration processes.
  • Customer technical support.
  • Extending their connectors through SDKs
  • Debugging a recipe can be painful. I have spent a lot of hours with customer support helping me and teaching me how to debug the recipes, but I think they could do a better job by coming up with some kind of debugging feature.
When you have a strategy like ours, to find the best possible solution for different areas or problems, such as HR, Finance, Sales/CRM, and marketing, you need to integrate them and make them work as one system. I think that if you have an ERP, such as SAP, Workato is not going to be for you. ERPs can't do everything and you always end up using other solutions.

Workato is being used as an operational efficiency tool, integrating separate software solutions to drive business process improvement. The solution interacts with various departments throughout the organization (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Project Management) but is only visible to a few team members. The solution addresses information isolation, data entry and aligning the single source of truth throughout our organization. It assists us in aligning customer names, licensee information, lead generation, and marketing information throughout our organization.
  • Extremely friendly user-interface and platform. Easy to execute from a technical or functional role. This does not require a thorough knowledge in Rest/JSON/SOAP to quickly build out and test integrations.
  • Support and professional service from the Company is phenomenal. Always direct, responsive and thorough, respectful of our allotted time and spend.
  • The pricing plan is very generous. We continue to build out integrations in dev environments and when we determine they are successful, we can move into production and adjust our plans accordingly.
  • The primary emphasis I would recommend to Workato would be to continue to invest in additional pre-built feature sets.
  • I would appreciate more flexibility around the job logs. The platform itself performs well with logging, however, the ability to extract isn't as simple.
Flexible integrations. You can make changes to integrations quickly and easily without technical assistance. If you understand your needs will continue to change, this is the product for you.

Workato is used to connect our core CRM (Salesforce) with Xero (for accounting) and Harvest (for time tracking). It enables us to update client and project information once, and have the information disseminated across our operational systems while bringing back into Salesforce key data needed to serve our customers better. As a systems integrator ourselves, we've also implemented Salesforce into our client sites where we can not only create initial integrations but teach our clients how to add, manage, and improve their integrations in-house.
  • Easy to use interface allowing for non-technical people to create recipes for integrations.
  • Flexibility to build your own connectors in the event that an off-the-shelf connector doesn't exist.
  • Strong support despite the timezone difference (we're based in Australia).
  • Still growing out their library of pre-built connectors, sometimes feels other iPaaS providers have more available.
  • When a recipe fails due to poor data inputs, unable to clear out the failed job (the only option is to have it re-run successfully).
Point to point application integrations and business process automation.

We are currently using Workato to automate external requests from our constituents. Workato allows us to automate assignments to different members of the team based on specific logic and it works like a charm.
  • Easy to follow automations.
  • Lots of apps to connect to.
  • Great support staff.
  • Fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it.
  • Some logic is complex and could be presented differently.
  • Quite expensive given that you can only connect three apps at the starter level of the scale
  • Sometimes it's not clear why the recipe has crashed. Even for technical minded teams in software engineering the descriptions are vague and don't specify whether the failure is during trigger, transit, or something else.
Workato is suited where the logic of automation is clearly mapped on the user's end so once it's set, you can leave it alone and it does its magic. It's not suited for constantly changing processes in my view as the effort to dismantle and rebuild is high.

We are using Workato to take processes that are manual and convert them to be automated.

This is being used by IT and services that may touch IT. Some directives some from management as others are requested from different IT groups to look at solving their processes.

We are trying to solve manual processes that are prone to error and repeated manual steps.
  • Easy to user interface
  • Connections are easy to establish
  • Simple recipes can be written by those without coding knowledge
  • Some connectors don't have fully set up functionality
  • No easy way of getting reporting metrics
  • Can't change the start date of a recipe once you run it once
Workato works well with systems that you are very familiar with. For example, if you want to work with Okta or ServiceNow you will need the help of of someone more expert in that system in order to tell you where and what things are. It also works well when you already have a process flow and are looking to to fill in gaps where you are doing things manually.

Workato is less appropriate if you are looking for an end to end solution. It can [do this] but at this point it gets very complex to build and at this point harder to debug and manage.
