Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Workfront across the marketing organization. We have a 55 person marketing organization. We had been using a different task management tool, but it was not able to scale with our organization. We needed a system that could handle hierarchy of tasks, projects, programs, and portfolios. Workfront is a great tool for this usage type.

Gantt charts are a little lacking and tough to read given the number of projects we work on
Would love to see Workfront be able to produce a flow chart based on dependencies
The reporting is fantastic, however it would be great to add a specific time frame (ex: Today + or - 30 days) as opposed to current month

Return on Investment

Our production management would have failed without Workfront
Workfront has allowed our production management team to be very organized and stay on top of every task at hand
Workfront has given us the 10,000 foot view through dashboards, reporting, and the calendar that we did not have before

Alternatives Considered

We were using Kapost, which is more of a task management system. As a marketing organization of a hyper-growth company, we needed a system that allowed us to have hierarchy of projects. We were getting lost in the weeds, and needed a higher level view. We reviewed quite a few project management systems from the low to high end and found that Workfront did everything we needed. Workfront was a clear front-runner throughout our process.

We worked with Workfront on the implementation of the project. The individuals on the phone with us, were great. They were knowledgeable, helpful, and provided us with solutions along the way. The project manager that was assigned to our account, wasn't great, but we didn't have many interactions with her.

Likelihood to Recommend

Workfront is well suited for our business as it is great at providing an easy hierarchy of all our projects. This is great for us since we have about 150-300 tasks completed each week, which if we didn't have this organization, would make it extremely difficult to manage. So far, we have not used the track time on work function, so it is less appropriate, however, I would like to move our team to get there so we can accurately track time it takes to complete a project.
