Great for Keeping Track of Consultant Billable Hours
Overall Satisfaction with Workfront
Our organization sells software and services to install that software as well as general consulting services. We use Workfront to manage the implementation projects and consulting projects from a time and materials perspective. Each consultant is assigned to projects and they log their hours day by day into the corresponding projects. Our AR department then bills customers based on the hour logs.
Pros
- Project management by status and progress tracking.
- Helps consultants stay on track with their time keeping because AR is constantly reminding them to fill in the time sheets.
- Can produce reports to submit to customer when they ask for a breakdown of how hours were used.
Cons
- Creation of tasks, responsibilities, projects can be a little cumbersome from an admin perspective.
- Time entries need to be constantly saved. If you forget, all your entries are erased. Would be nice to have an "auto-save" feature.
- "Documents" features are weak. Not sure if it can integrate with share-point and other collaboration tools.
- Unified the timekeeping needs for our consultants.
- Aided in centralizing project reporting.
- Permission management capabilities streamline administration.
