Overall Satisfaction with Xero

As a small ad agency we use Xero as our main finance and accounting tool to help us manage overall aspects of our operations. The software helps us streamline invoicing, track expenses, monitor cash flow and assist the accountant with payroll. It saves time by automating invoicing for our retainers saving us time and helping with our cash flow.

Pros

  • Helping us automate our invoicing particularly for retainer clients
  • Being able to manage different client billing cycles
  • A really efficient and caring support team

Cons

  • Project tracking is pretty basic
  • Customization on invoice templates is limited
  • Not all integrations work smoothly
  • Reduced errors and delays on client billing
  • As the ops person, I’m not buried in spreadsheets or chasing invoices constantly anymore
  • Saved us time on admin
You don't need to be an accountant to use it our understand how it works. It is intuitive enough for beginners to use
We didn't have to invest in any special equipment or IT support because it is a cloud based software. Reduced paperwork has also helped us spend less time on admin and rather have a central place for our finance info
They are not really the same so its hard to give a point for point comparisson

As I said in my previous point We bill clients for different projects and retainers, often on different cycles. Xero makes it super easy to create and send branded invoices, set up repeating ones for ongoing work, and track who's paid (or who needs a nudge)
