Overall Satisfaction with Yahoo Gemini
Yahoo Gemini is used as one of the search engine marketing platforms for paid search advertising campaigns. In addition to other SEM platforms, Yahoo Gemini is used to create and manage advertising campaigns for a variety of clients. In addition to branding and informational dissemination, Gemini helps drive potential customers to the clients' website or landing page. It is used across the entire organization for clients that want to cover advertising efforts on the three major search platforms. I specifically use it for reporting and analysis to drive optimization for clients.
- Reporting: granular exports (summary, by week, by day, etc) of front end metrics (clicks, impressions, spend)
- Easily build and launch campaigns specifically tailored to client needs
- Intuitive interface and documentation to guide campaign prep and launches
- More robust and sophisticated reporting capacity: front end metrics are available with different granularities, but lacking in insight to guide optimization strategy
- No display/programmatic buying options as yet.
- Audience targeting could be improved and audience / lookalike modeling could be improved. That said, geotargeting capabilities are very good.
- It has created a more comprehensive understanding of the audience to whom a client is marketing.
- It allows clients to target and reach audience members on all major search platforms.
- It provides data and reporting to understand and analyze campaign success and optimize campaigns towards client goals.
Gemini is comparable in objective and use to the other SEM platforms. Geminis audience is more limited and therefore should be used to complement other efforts on other platforms. We use Gemini to create a multi platform SEM campaign, to reach the largest possible audience and to target audience across multiple platforms and channels. It's reporting capabilities are on par with Bing, but fall short of the sophistication in Google AdWords.
