Overall Satisfaction with Zerto

We use Zerto for disaster recovery and site replication between our primary and DR datacenters. We are able to recover our virtual servers in near real-time from a failure or disaster event. Zerto helps us meet audit and regulatory needs in the banking industry for backup/recovery of our datacenters.

Pros

  • Site to Site replication
  • Near real-time replication and recovery from point in time
  • Faster RPO & RTOs
  • Easy to use, can restore a virtual machine with a few mouse clicks
  • Easy DR testing

Cons

  • Expensive licensing cost
  • Language barrier depending on which support tech you receive.
  • Great ROI, very positive for our business.
  • The cost of downtime makes Zerto worth it, we have been able to restore VMs in seconds instead of hours with other solutions.
  • Per VM pricing is a big plus, no need to waste $$ on VMs we don't need to protect.
Most of the time Zerto support is great, but I have had issues with communication barriers with support techs. The last few times support has taken longer than expected to respond to support tickets.

Zerto is very easy to use and setup, a few clicks and you can restore a VPG to your DR datacenter. The interface has built-in help that can step you through each option and give details on what each option does/means.
No, Zerto is expensive but it works and is worth the price for a DR solution.
Zerto is well suited for disaster recovery and virtual machine replication between multiple data centers. DR testing for audit or regulations is much easier with Zerto, great reporting, dashboard etc. It is not well suited for physical server replication for disaster recovery or as a primary backup solution.
