    ATOSS is well suited for companies working with different work patterns and on different sites. It is also possible to block the changes for the past, which is really useful if payroll is centralized. The interfaces work with multiple systems as well. But in order to avoid having a huge database, it has to be carefully cleaned from time to time by a system admin, especially if you give access to multiple persons.

    The time clock system (Time & Labor module) is great for clocking employee's time and Time Off. There is a time off calendar to view who is off which is really nice. Adjustments to time sheets are simple to enter. Schedules are easy to view. It's an easy system to learn for new employees. The Implementation took a little longer than I would have liked. Allow yourself extra time. But once we were up and running, things went really smoothly. The self training videos are really helpful. And if you do need to contact them with a question, the response time from their reps is super quick

    • I often notice that there are glitches in the system. These are often "one-off" situations that typically happen at random. For example, sometimes when I go to change an employee's supervisor, I get an error message saying the effective date has to be prior to the employee record date; which doesn't make sense to me to update a change that "happened" before the employee's record was created.
    • It would be nice to receive notifications whenever there are pending employee changes. I typically don't know that an employee has made a change unless I go into that section of the website and updates like direct deposit can be held up especially since the first check after a DD change is made always has to be a paper check.
    • I noticed that I can only see the project codes and employee entered on their timesheet when I'm going through their line items.
    • It would be nice to be able to create offer letters in the system that would allow for multiple signatures and also be able to customize onboarding acknowledgement documents to the particular employee. For instance, we have a non-compete document that leaves the employee's name, job title and the date the non-compete went into effect. We can have the employee acknowledge that they've actually read it but we can't tailor it to each employee.

      The transition from my old provider to Paylocity was virtually painless. I always felt well supported by my account rep. I would use Paylocity again, but I'm not in a position to change providers at my current company right now.

      Although it is fairly easy to use, there are some processes that just don't make munch sense. For example, if an employee has 2 bank accounts and the funds are returned from one account the process to reissue is TEDIOUS and confusing. Unless you want to PAY for Paylocity to do it for you. I think the manual process should be as easy for us.

      The frustrations I have with Paylocity customer support are what drove me to leave a review in the first place so I can warn anyone considering purchasing this product. I really like the software and it has a lot of great features, but my complete distrust of their customer service has led me to rue the day I chose Paylocity to be our payroll vendor. For one thing, they are often slow to respond. That alone might be manageable, except even when I do get a response, half the time the answers are incomplete/not helpful, if not completely incorrect! Imagine waiting 90 days and paying thousands of dollars for a corrected W2 only for it to come back more incorrect than it was when you started, and not only that but they also made me question my sanity trying to convince me that they were correct when it was BLATANTLY wrong - and that's just one example! Sometimes you might be lucky to get a decent customer service rep using the chat help feature, but most of the time whoever you talk to does not seem to have any more knowledge of the system than you do. I am a patient person and I have a lot of grace for administrative errors (we're all human) but Paylocity customer service is consistently unreliable and sometimes unprofessional to boot. To their credit, the sales and implementation teams do seem really good. It seems like maybe they just can't retain good customer service reps. We've been through several account managers without ever having a good experience.

      I would make sure you have a dedicated team at Paylocity to complete the implementation. We had staff from Paylocity quit and things were not completed properly. They dropped the ball so to speak on that portion of it. we have encountered multiple issues since then and are still not using the Time off tracking to its full capabilities.

      We previously used ADP for many years and the ADP Workforce Now for roughly seven years prior to moving to Paylocity in 2019. ADP was very costly and not user-friendly for our staff or management. This is the only other payroll provider I have ever used and can compare to Paylocity.

      • The ability to have reports compiled for various audits and having the totals needed at my fingertips instead of having to modify data in Excel.
      • Utilizing the PTO information in the portal, this allows for less frustration between the employees and Payroll regarding any discrepancies.
      • One item that takes away time is the fact that I can't approve time off requests because I'm not a supervisor, even though my security level is a company administrator. I don't even receive an email notification that an employee submitted the request. As a result, I am tracking down employees regarding missed work and they have already submitted a request which I can't even see in the portal either.
