Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We installed Paylocity 2nd Quarter of 2024 to streamline our processes, incorporate all of our companies into one cohesive system and merge several aspects of our team's employment into one solution. Our organization has been enabled to become much more transparent and provide team members direct access to their employment, payroll, demographic and even engagement information! We have also been able to integrate our benefits platform into Paylocity for a single sign on access to both systems.

Pros

  • Extremely User Friendly
  • Online Knowledge Base
  • Customer Service
  • Reporting - Reports already written as well as easy report writing/manipulation

Cons

  • Incremented accruals especially first year of employment
  • Implementation Discovery - Much more time, questions and exploration of new customer so that Paylocity can best steer users on setting up system and using it to the best of their advantage. We ended up going backwards many times due to missed set up and even are going without some functionality this first year because we can't go back in time and make corrections.
  • Greatly reduced duplication of effort
  • Giving managers and employees access to their employment information has reduced amount of administrative time managers and HR spend on updates such as change of address, tax deduction changes, etc.
  • Increased employee engagement
We are still in learning mode on many of Paylocity's capabilities, etc. but so far I can say the reduction in duplication of effort and multiple platforms are not only saved us money but has allowed HR to focus more on new employee programs and training.
As soon as we launched many team members started entering shout outs to other team members! It was absolutely amazing! Visibility of birthdays, work anniversaries etc. allows the team for further interaction and makes starting a conversation so much easier. Brings the team together more as a family. The survey functionality is remarkable also especially when our team is spread out between multiple states.
We feel we got all the features and functionality needed at a fair price. One HUGE determining factor was Paylocity's ability to interface with Employee Navigator in which we already used through our insurance broker. We also liked that the company was relatively local to where we are located.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

I believe Paylocity is well suited for multi-company locations. The ability to run reports either by company or combined is absolutely WONDERFUL!

Using Paylocity

70 - All employees within our organization use Paylocity to some extent - - from VPs to Production staff to CDL Drivers to Office Personnel.
1 - Paylocity is really quite intuitive. Whomever is supporting our installation would just need to be aware of our policies and how the system is set up to work with our business practices.
  • Timekeeping
  • Payroll Processing
  • Onboarding
  • Transparency
  • Employee Rewards & Recognition
  • Central Hub for Communication
  • Recruiting
  • Performance Appraisal
  • Training
There is still a lot more to the system we haven't tapped into and so far team is really appreciating the ease of use and wealth of visibility.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

Yes - Sage, Concur and Exaktime. These systems were either not integrated at all or the integration was very unreliable and cumbersome. Lastly, with multiple vendors and platforms it was costly.
  • Integration with Other Systems
It was important to us that our solution integrated with Employee Navigator as we already had that in place. We were easily able to cost justify the all inclusive system as well.
I feel our selection process was thorough and really nothing we would change.

Paylocity Implementation

Implementation was a bit bumpy and Paylocity team not always available for next steps and/or questions. I feel like Paylocity could have done a better job in their fact finding as far as what we were currently doing, our payroll policies and needs, etc. so that we would have run into less issues as we moved forward.
Yes - Time and Labor was set up separately from HR & Payroll using different Paylocity team members who specialized in these areas. Onboarding and Recruiting came next.
Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled

Paylocity Support

I really appreciate that we are assigned a support manager. That person is very familiar with our set up, our needs and our history. However, I've spoken to others on the support team and have had very positive interactions and get the help needed.

Don't believe so. Not familiar with this.
I called just this past week and my service manager is out on medical leave. The young lady I spoke to was extremely knowledgeable not only on the topic I originally called about but since I got such great immediate answers, I asked her a few more!

Using Paylocity

Very intuitive and user friendly.
