Autodesk AEC Collection vs. Emptoris

It is perfect for the completion of designs and drawings which fundamentally covers the main focus of all our projects. It is easy to use and works well for both complicated and simple projects

Any company who needs more monitoring and has frequent contract language changes due to negotiations with parties can utilize the Emptoris Contracts software to a greater extent. Key Business Questions that are answered on Emptoris:

• More clause language.
• Multiple language support
• Maintenance of the contracts during the life cycle.
• Bringing Legacy contracts into new system and its maintenance.
• Monitoring the contract and important remainders based on contract.
• Complex contract approval process due to the business complexity.
• User roles and responsibilities - Privileges.
• Version comparison difficulties.

Many more.. There are good amount of features on Emptoris that can be used, which improves the business process cycle times.

• Use of software requires the latest high-tech computers.

• The only thing I would like to see is that is can hold mutiple attachments under the language tab.
• I would like to see a function that allows all credentialing materials to be attached to Emptoris and sent to the next step as one complete package.

I gave a rating of 10 because, thus far, Autodesk AEC Collection Seems to be on the leading edge for what is required for the construction planning, implementation, and continued of real-world assets. Autodesk has been a great benefit for our organization and has allowed us to continue to improve not only ourselves but the people we work with. We have been using Autodesk AEC Collection for a number of years and hope to continue for a long time coming.

There are a lot of new, exciting products coming out in every field and I believe that there is always something better right over the horizon. If it was my choice, I would review my usage of Emptoris and other software periodically to make sure I'm using the most efficient software possible.

The software has a significant learning curve. You also must know and understand construction standards and codes. Each member of our BIM team has spent 10+ years in construction and has had years of software training. The software also requires powerful computers to render the models. Without a BIM focused gpu and processor, the software will seem less usable when in reality, the computer is not capable of running the software properly

The above rating for the overall support from Emptoris is for their product / product support, roll out training and refresher training / ongoing training, which is not only good but superior. There is no major or reconizable bad review that can be given to Emptoris at this point in time, from where is stands.

Each of these pieces of software has a different use and focus. Some overlap with each other and some are components of Autodesk AEC Collection, such as Autodesk Fabrication CADmep. They are all well designed and powerful applications that help us with everything from planning to design and collaboration. We use all of them and will continue to explore other Autodesk products that may help our organization grow and accomplish more.

We eventually selected Apttus because of its close ties to Salesforce and quick implementation process. We were able to get the application installed and live in just a few weeks. For our purposes, it was a much better fit for us to generate and store contracts for our company without having to force a link to procurement.
