Auvik
Auvik is a great tool for discovering the details and eccentricities of your or your customer's networks. It truly is a tool I didn't know I needed and now I can't live without. Immediately after deploying it I was able to proactively identify some network pain points that allowed me to correct multiple network deficiencies and create happier customers without even realizing they were having problems (slow network speeds, congested ports). Onboarding and ongoing support are top notch. They really don't just "throw you to the wolves," though that being said, the complexity of the product does merit taking the onboarding and initial setup seriously and not just going with a "deploy and go" type of scenario, but that's strictly because of the scope and feature set that the product offers.

Pulseway
Pulseway is well suited for just about any situation where there is a need to remotely monitor and manage computers. The most basic features are available to anyone with a free account, so even a home user can set it up and use to keep an eye on computers. The more sophisticated features require a fairly inexpensive subscription, but are well worth the cost for a business wanting to monitor the health of their servers, etc.My experience with Pulseway is limited to using it in situations where there are fewer than a dozen or so computers/servers being monitored. I'm not really sure how well it scales up, so I can't say if it is a good solution for a large corporation with hundreds or thousands of machines that need to be monitored.

- It would be nice if they increased their scope of supported third-party apps.
- It would be great if they would create an ios app for their ticket system.
- If they could possibly build in a location service for tracking devices, that would be helpful.
- If they had two-factor authentication, it would be nice.

Pulseway is very user friendly. The system is labeled in terms and grouped together by function so that anyone can understand and locate the functions that they need. We use this system to monitor a file server that we have that can have an unstable power supply. This allows us to easily see that the system is offline and get it back to operational with minimal downtime.

I haven't really needed much support for Pulseway, so I can't really say a whole lot about their support. Pulseway has been pretty much trouble-free for us. There are regular updates and new features. The updates never seem to break anything or cause problems. It just works.

Auvik
Actually, we went from Auvik to LogicMonitor, Auvik is like playing with Tinker Toys compared to LogicMonitor. We moved from Auvik to LogicMonitor for a bunch of reasons, pricing was among them. Auvik charges extra for Netflow monitoring where LogicMonitor has is included. If you want anything more than basic ping monitoring in Auvik you have to do an SNMP walk on every device that you are monitoring and then write to create custom OID's to monitor for what should be simple out of the box monitoring, such as Cisco Health or Jitter/Latency.

Pulseway
Pulseway is best suited for small to mid-size organizations. Its design and cost structure lend themselves to being extremely useful for organizations that don't have a huge IT team but have significant IT infrastructure. Most other tools are more difficult to implement or have a much higher cost. Pulseway is the best of both worlds.

- Problems can be dealt with more rapidly because I have access to systems from anywhere. I don't have to carry a computer with me nor do I have to find a location with potentially non-secure wifi to gain access to my systems.
- I can handle 99% of my system admin tasks using Pulseway and never have to touch a system or connect to the console.
- Pulseway gives so much control over a system that I don't need to spend extra money on other software to perform management tasks.
