The Oracle Integration Cloud Service is an iPaaS providing prebuilt integration flows between applications, including other Oracle products. Boomi has more stable integration and connectivity to SFDC, email and a few other adapters, but with OIC the user-friendly UI makes it simpler to build and support various integrations.
Oracle's solutions play well with their own software and other systems. Their cloud products are familiar if you have used one and the UI is easy to use. Uptime and reliability are also always a factor.

Oracle API Manager is well suited in a business or company that make use of Apis to facilitate access of backend services and data sources by the staff or customers or both. It is also imported in situations where all actions in a system need to be attributed to specific users.
Oracle Process Cloud is suited for medium-sized companies and up who want to create applications that can automate tasks without the need of recruiting more software developers. With a couple hours of training, any member of the organization's business team will be well-equipped with all of the knowledge that is needed to use Oracle Process Cloud effectively. If your IT team is large and able to take upon the task of making the given application, then something like Oracle BPM is a better solution.
New enhanced activities that are targeted to reduce the integration pain. For example, file stage activity reduces the pain of chunking the input file while sending and mapping the data to the target application. Stage activity takes care of it automatically for the customer. Similarly, recommendation on the mapper is a huge plus for people looking for common integration.
There are around 50 adapters available including dedicated out of the box application adapters and generic technologies adapters on OICS. The best part of these application adapters is that they are designed considering LOB users. Most of the time integration implementor does not require, application knowledge to perform the integration. OICS has some of Oracle Cloud applications adapters which make integration much easier may not be available in other integration platforms.
Inbuilt diagnostic dashboard and error hospital makes this product lucrative. OICS also comes with integrated Process Cloud and Visual Builder at the same cost. the customer can have seamless integration with Apiary and SSI on demand.
More from a development perspective. It is always difficult to use the properties features. It takes a while to understand how the data/variables can be used across an integration.
Dell Boomi should also invest more on API Management and not just seen as a ETL,ESB tool.
Should roll out features more often based on users reviews.
Absence of Role-Based Access. A finer grain control on what type of users can call certain API Endpoints is needed.
Performance with third-party databases isn't as fast as using Oracle Database.
Long learning curve. Although Oracle API Manager provides performance and a vast deal of features, a certain level of expertise is required to effectively make use of them.
Currently, it is not retaining the logs for more than 3 days, which it needs to address.
We also need some functionality inside the interface to re-push the same transaction again so that it will be helpful while testing and fixing the issue.
Also, some log errors are not giving the correct details. Oracle needs to rectify those.
Dell Boomi has provided us with the ability to connect our campus together using our various existing platforms. There are many supported features and have yet to run into something that we cannot do. Its user interface is very intuitive which would allow users to begin developing fairly easily. There is a myriad of resources available
My IT and Finance teams have noted that setting up the tool is a breeze. Dell Boomi has never caused an issue during a system implementation that I am aware of. We are pleased with the tool and recommend others consider it.
The atom sphere takes a time to load, when I open a process or when I open a log. One more slow processing is when I import objects from NetSuite.
About the performance of processing, it looks like Boomi takes a time to initialize some things such as connectors before starting the process. This is also performance we have.
Boomi support was responsive and knowledgable, however being a closed cloud service, it doesn't have good community support. We found the learning curve to be steep and there aren't avenues like google, forums, or blogs that provide community driven insight into the product or how to go about designing solutions using the tool
We decided to go with Dell Boomi because another department in our company was already using the software. We did not research competitor applications to use as our business solution. Dell Boomi was very easy and quick to set up, so once we decided to use Dell Boomi for systems integration, we had it set up and running within a few working days.
Oracle API Manager is much easier to learn and understand then IBM Data Power Gateway and IBM API Connect. We selected Oracle API Manager in our company because to have a good intuitive interface with drag and drop features and because beginners and easily get up to speed to use this tool.
The nearest thing I have used to OIC is UiPath, as it is often used as a tool to integrate software together. However, it is much more suited to legacy software which have little to no API endpoints. If the infrastructure already exists I understand why people use RPA for integration, however for when API's are easily accessible and you're using Oracle tools, OIC is better.
It has allowed us to scale significantly without having to add headcount, specifically those geared towards data entry. We went from a $10m ARR business to $200m ARR business with the same amount of Order Processors and 12x amount of transactions by leveraging Boomi to perform a lot of the work, and then having the Order Processing team to simply review that the transaction was processed successfully.
Oracle API Manager supports both REST & SOAP API's.
Secure and attributable connection to back-end services and data sources. In addition to creating API's for querying data, you can also create API endpoints that can manipulate the data in the back-end databases.
Although Oracle API Manager provides performance and a vast deal of features, to start with it is really important you train your people working on development, deployment and administrators to effectively use Oracle API Manager.
The modern and advanced analytical abilities in Oracle Process Cloud are also a missing element that should be catered to.
This tool is used greatly for IT departments at a lower level with some very basic and limited access for general employees only.
Oracle Process Cloud has many advantages like it offers some very great and scalable solutions.
I find Oracle Process Cloud pretty straightforward and easy as compared to the different options available. Lastly, I think that as it is just one platform, managing the Oracle Process Cloud is pretty easy too.
