Brand24 vs. Coosto

Brand24 is perfect for a company that wants to build up its social media presence. It's great to know when our organization is mentioned online so I can engage with other companies. I like the mobile app but if there was a way to be notified via phone with it that would make it even better.

Coosto is an excellent all platform social media management tool, in which you can do (almost) everything.

• The interface of Brand24 is extremely easy to use and easy to understand for beginnings or mid-level emoloyees
• The results in Brand24 are organized clearly in buckets that you can either PDF or download the raw data
• Brand24 looks at several social platforms rather than just 1 or 2, like some other tools are limited to

• Quick, easy to use SQL based search functionality.

• The user interface was confusing. I had to reach out to support for help, and I'm a pretty tech-savvy person to begin with. Support resolved my issue.

• The dashboard is only useable in full screen, not in compartments
• Rather expensive

I would start with Mention as opposed to beginning with Brand24. We originally used Mention but the price was increasing year-over-year so we wanted to try a cheaper alternative. We eventually did go back to Mention after Brand24, due to its ease of use and it was also easier to monitor our brand with Mention in the end.

Coosto is more powerful than the version of Hootsuite we used.

• Positive: We can respond to customers in a reasonably realistic timeframe.
• Positive: We get updates from old content that has new activity.

• Positive impact on communications strategies.
• Negative impact as product is often used for collecting metrics. Most of Coosto's metrics shouldn't be used for strategic or design decisions.
