We analyzed other solutions in 2008 but were convinced from the get go Broadsign would be a perfect fit for our needs in the long run. 15 years later our choice has been proven right.

Chose Crownpeak CMS
Crownpeak is the only true SAAS CMS on the market. All the others are either not/partially SAAS or providing it through other 3rd party vendors.
Chose Crownpeak CMS
I was not at this team within my organization during the evaluation period of Crownpeak. However, my previous team used Sitecore. Crownpeak is a bit easier to use from a UI perspective and has more creative options within the tool. Sitecore's clunky UI also was a reason I found …

Crownpeak DXM is decoupled and easier to work with than Sitecore Experience Platform.

Crownpeak DXM has a better total cost of ownership with a real and straightforward SaaS model for version updates. DXM has a better composable enterprise capability, allowing for easier and more effective API integrations. Crownpeak partner relationships are more open and …

As an agency, we work with several different content / digital experience platforms. My clients who chose Crownpeak over other options did so primarily due to the lack of need to perform costly upgrades and the ability to support multiple development options (i.e., not just …

CrownPeak’s DQM gives the entire CrownPeak suite a slight advantage because it’s so helpful in tracking functionality issues, typos and areas for SEO improvements.

This platform is needed and effective because it reaches new audiences and helps our clients to grow in new areas that Google cant access.

Google Ad Manager is like an angel coming into your organization to save you when you've been battered, beaten, and bruised. The entire UI is a wonderful breath of fresh air. It just "works" where ONE doesn't. The costs, the learning curve, the data organization all outweigh …
Chose Yahoo DSP
I would still say that The Trade Desk and Google DV360 would rank in the top tier for DSPs, while One by AOL would rank in the second tier. That said, the progress and advancements in the last few years from AOP to ONE by AOL to the new Verizon Media platform are worth looking …
Chose Yahoo DSP
I think that each has its own positive qualities. The Oath platform is better for video whereas the TTD is better for targeting and has better levers to pull for geographic constraints.
Chose Yahoo DSP
We moved away from ADTECH (which recently announced it's closure) because it was not being updated and maintained properly to use as an ad server in today's media.
Chose Yahoo DSP
Maybe Google Analytics? But even that doesn't offer the same amount of services as AdTech – and I think that's because this is what AdTech does, and Google is spread a little thin. I use several different platforms, but I did have a lot of fun working with Adtech. Bottom line …

Brightroll transparent reporting and lower cost was the primary reason that it was selected when compared to the other competitors Tube Mogul from Adobe and Ad Roll. Also Yahoo audience network was more suited to the campaign's need in terms of reach and audience type. The …
Chose Yahoo DSP
Any good media person would have a mix on their plan and Brightroll was the "reach" portion. Unfortunately, despite the efficient pricing, the overall performance of the campaign was less than desired. Too cheap, perhaps?

Crownpeak DXM is a great solution if you are looking for a flexible platform that allows engineers to quickly develop while also making it easy for content authors to work especially in scenarios where you need multi-language support. It is also good for scenarios where you want a cloud-based solution and are looking for just one vendor to handle hosting and offer the CMS.

Customer demographics that are not typical of ours are being served by our marketing efforts. We've seen fast expansion as a result of the exposure Yahoo has given us. Because of the low cost per click, users can see results right away. The more traffic there is, the better.

Pros

  • Seamless upgrades and enhancements. In true Saas fashion, you don't have to worry about what version your software is on, as you are always on the latest.
  • Highly performant. Allows you to create extremely lightweight applications that have no load time and snappy performance.

  • Predictive Modeling - always performs well for Conversion & CPA based campaigns; out-performed other DSPs with similar tools.
  • Email Receipt Retargeting - no other DSP offers the ability to do this, so it is 100% proprietary, as far as I know.

Cons
No answers on this topic
  • Searching for a particular asset is almost unusable, you have to know exact name of the asset you are looking for.
  • Pages with many assets or dependencies take a long time to load.
  • Set up a way to automatically migrate content - API or automation tools.

  • Site List Transparency - we weren't too thrilled that our site list was only partial
  • Performance was less than desired - our client wanted to see better click through rates and video completion rates

Pages load very fast on production (assuming you develop with basic SEO practices in place) due to Crownpeak's publishing architecture. The slide downside is that publishing can be a bit slow at times.

Crownpeak DXM's service and support are outstanding. We have immediate access to both the tech support team and the software engineering team. We can get a support person on the phone whenever needed, and we can schedule impromptu training sessions at any time. Best support I have ever received from a platform provider in 20 years of software and application development.

My team left training with a solid understanding of how to use the product and the developer training ended with a test to ensure the ability to properly develop was learned properly. Recently, Crownpeak has added a self-paced training option which makes it extremely flexible to on-board new developers.

One of the biggest benefits is obviously around lack of hardware consideration, procurement, implementation. Eliminating that process improves the speed to market out of the gate. Depending on the client size, initial sites can be up and running in just a few months, with subsequent development faster by taking advantage of templates and current structure.

DXM has a better composable enterprise capability, allowing for easier and more effective API integrations. Crownpeak partner relationships are more open and collaborative with a real working relationship and desire to support our client implementations - this goes beyond the usual software vedor/ digital marketing services relationship and adds a lot of value to our business and our clients end product. DQM quality assurance tools integrate with DXM seamlessly and add a lot of value to QA at website deployment, multiple market rollout, and ongoing optimisation.

  • Improved digital experience - allows us to build exactly what we need instead of settling for what the platform can do.
  • Reduced reliance on IT - with the whole product as SaaS in the cloud and using a web browser as the admin tool, it is completely off IT's radar.
  • Improved marketing options - we can now optimize and personalize our content instead of using one-size-fits-all.

  • AdTech helps us determine where to steer our audience, and where to project our next campaign.
  • AdTech helps us view data based on user likes, clicks, and analyze trends among our audience.
  • What I don't like about AdTech is that it can sometimes put some people out of a job, as it streamlines work to the point that some on payroll may be...well, unnecessary.
