OpenAI offers ChatGPT, an advanced general intelligence (AGI) chatbot which interacts in a conversational way. The dialogue format makes it possible for ChatGPT to answer followup questions, admit its mistakes, challenge incorrect premises, and reject inappropriate requests. ChatGPT is a sibling model to InstructGPT, which is trained to follow an instruction in a prompt and provide a detailed response.

I’d definitely recommend ChatGPT to anyone as a great introduction to generative AI and as a starting point in research, writing, brainstorming, or general questions or judgement questions. It can be a great tool to use when you don’t necessarily need an accurate answer. For example, I wouldn’t let it calculate my taxes, but I’d use it to ask some general tax questions, then ask for sources and then verify by checking those sources. I also love ChatGPT for writing and questions - it’s great for emails, creating templates and outlines, and for generating spreadsheet formulas.

Conversica
Conversica is an excellent tool if you have a large database of potential students, sales leads, or other forms of potential customers/users. It does not replace human interaction, but instead supplements it - allowing your admissions/sales/retention team to spend their time with those individuals that are in most need of assistance - whether that be because they are "hot leads" for a sale, students with a sincere interest, or customers needing assistance beyond the capabilities of an automatic system.

Copilit is fantastic at the following: 1. Solving simple, well-defined problems, such as implementing an algorithm, manipulating a data structure, or string manipulation and regex. 2. Implementing simple APIs that are mainly CRUD in nature, with moderate business logic inside them, which may involve some processing or passing the data through an algorithm. 3. Implementation of well-defined activities, such as implementing a connection to an Oracle DB using Hibernate or JDBC, or implementing boilerplate code for a backend service to listen to Kafka events. It is not that great when it comes to understanding and implementing code in a proprietary DSL. It struggles when implementing a major feature across a complex codebase. I believe developers should also adopt the trust-but-verify paradigm when expecting highly secure or regulated code from GitHub Copilot.

Pros
OpenAI
  • Saves time by generating content about a specific topic very quickly
  • Allows us to quickly learn information online (from various sources or even a single lengthy article) into more summed up digestible paragraphs (and even bullet points)
  • Can autogenerate content on a vast amount of topics

  • Conversica is great at working low level leads and surfacing those that are in fact interested in your product or service.
  • Conversica is also useful in weeding out leads that are not strong.
  • Since Conversica is sending emails to various prospects, customers and opportunities, it allows sales, account managers, service etc, to focus on other activities, thereby saving time and freeing up resources.

Cons
OpenAI
  • Wish it had support for better slides generation. Sometimes we found ourselves using chatgpt to outline a presentation but build it ourselves or use a tool like Gamma
  • Maybe a chepear $10 plan. In some countries the US dollar can be expensive and $20 goes a long way.
  • I wish you could make projects with more files. They limit it. Or make the limit based on the content, not the number of files per se

  • The method of standing up campaigns can be a little tedious for administrators because it uses copy/paste of Salesforce Campaign ID instead of just searching for active Salesforce campaigns.
  • Understanding the conversation path options that the AI could take is improving greatly, but can still use some improvements for admin awareness when standing up a new conversation.
  • Understanding what conversation types exist and how they differ from one another is sometimes difficult to self-serv, but the Conversica team is always very good about helping out explaining these.

  • The only issue I faced is the context token size, it can be increase.
  • Sometime with agent mode it takes too much time, which can be reduced but I understand it also depends on the complexity of the given task.

ChatGPT is a powerful assistant. As long as you understand what it is you're looking for in its results, it can save you a lot of time due to its ability to do the heavy lifting for you. This frees your time up to enable you to concentrate on other tasks.

Tool is extremely powerful but comes with a heavy price tag. As long as we close more than 30 deals with year with Conversica's assistance it will be an easy choice to renew. If we don't we will have to figure out if these funds are best spent in other lead generation places.

Usability
OpenAI
It's a potent utility tool, personally and professionally. It’s also very convenient - it can be used for a wide range of things and scenarios, and when used correctly, it usually produces dependable results in
seconds. I would give it a full 10 if it didn't hallucinate as much as it does, and the image generator was more accurate.

Standalone, it's very easy to use. It becomes a little more complicated when you're working with it as an integration in Salesforce.

I feel that GitHub Copilot's overall usability is good due to its tight integration with Visual Studio and the workspace. However, developers expect greater ease of use, as there is a learning curve to realize productivity gains with the tool fully. I think there is room for improvement in GitHub Copilot's UI integration within Visual Studio.

Our account manager and support rep have been extremely helpful in helping us get the system where we wanted it. Given our original use case as a lead qualifier, a lot of the conversations needed to be altered or exceptions created in order to provide the customization we needed. Our AM and support rep were able to accommodate most of our requests and were extremely helpful in working with us on a solution.

The implementation went smoothly. The only advice I would give for anybody looking to integrate Conversica with Salesforce is to ensure that either you or somebody within your organization has experience with process builder as you'll need to create some processes to force your leads into Salesforce campaigns for the Conversica system to pick them up.

I find that ChatGPT has the best overall system for user-friendly Ai. I like the customization options of this tool in comparison to others. The ease of setting up a custom GPT with knowledge and resources is great - you don't get that in other tools. I also like the ability to embed the application directly into the browser or computer. This is powerful and opens up addition features or tools

I haven't looked into many other conversational ai products - we received a solid recommendation about using this and have been happy with the process and experience. Price was also pretty good, so we didn't feel a need to shop around on that front. If things change I'll do that homework, but we're happy for now

It is useful that copilot integrates so well with vscode, which is a very common IDE. I used Tabnine for a little while but it was not that intuitive, and did not seem as helpful as GitHub copilot was. I have enjoyed GitHub copilot a lot, especially the ease of hitting the tab key and seeing quick progress in my tasks.

OpenAI
  • I can solve problems quickly. What would take some time, for example, writing an SPF string, ChatGPT can do it correctly in seconds if I it gives the correct information.
  • The best tool I've ever used for research. For example, I can ask ChatGPT to list all the villages, cities and townships in a specific county. And provide the URL link for each.
  • Problems that seem unsolvable, i.e. why is Gmal rejecting every message from our list server is answered with a number of suggestions that I can follow up with.
  • Basically, has elimited a tech support position in our company.

  • We have found that each conversation type has a different ROI. Some are very hard to report off of, whereas others are easy. this is because some are more built around building awareness of what we offer where they may not purchase it for months down the line.
  • Has helped us to save on salaries. If staff were to try to do the same thing our AI Assistant does, it would take them many hours to be as successful.
