ClickMeeting

Launching and executing a webinar is easy and takes literally five seconds. The entire user experience is virtually seamless, with a platform that's loaded with detailed statistics. You even have access to live online support that will assist you instantly (from your webinar room).

Miro

Miro is well suited for scrappy collaborative exercises like affinity mapping where the relative spatial relationships are more important and visual design is less so. The sticky notes features are easy to use and can quickly capture a lot of information. Miro is less well suited for designing user journey maps or other diagrams you want to look nice because the design capabilities are more limited. It does offer templates which can be easy to work with but more difficult to customize.

Pros

ClickMeeting

  • Professional Live Interface - One of the reasons we chose ClickMeeting was how professional it looked from the viewer's experience. Our client is very small, but the interface makes them look like a top-notch firm to viewers.
  • Customization - Our client didn't have to forego their brand for a service, they were able to make it work for them. Also ties in with my point above.
  • Easy Event Creation - Takes no time at all to plan/schedule an event or meeting.

Miro

  • Built-in video chat.
  • Limitless whiteboard with frames to enable easy navigation.
  • Organizer tools allowing me to bring collaborators to my cursor or look at my view.
  • Ability to invite people from outside my organization.
  • Quick orientation before people can effectively interact.
  • Customizable controls for mouse or trackpad.

Cons

ClickMeeting

  • As with most new software, ClickMeeting did create a learning curve for many of the employees - thus training was necessary.
  • Our company is contracted by the Federal Government, thus a lot of our information needs to be kept private. Some of our high-level management have noticed that ClickMeeting only provides 128-bit AES encryption, which we feel can be improved upon.
  • Some of our remote users have found that ClickMeeting has some lag-time when using it on their android devices.

  • I also have a personal account. I'd like to be able to toggle between the two without having to log out.
  • When adding text into a shape, it doesn't seem possible to change the font size of one part without changing all of it. For example, if I want to create a title and make the font bigger, I can't do that.

It's intuitive for the most part but some elements are a little clunky to work with. Particularly, resizing text, aligning boxes, and spacing things out evenly can be challenging without alignment and measurement functionalities. The tool is probably designed for more scrappy, rapid mapping rather than polished, final deliverables, so the usability for that use case is pretty good.

I have not yet had to engage support live. I have found every answer I needed by tapping the extensive knowledge base. I think they are taking the right approach in allowing me to self serve when I need some info. I will update my review if and when I need to tap a live representative.

Alternatives Considered

ClickMeeting

Vimeo is the closest competitor to our organization. Vimeo hosts our online video library and luckily, it communicates with ClickMeeting well. If the demand for live webinars no longer existed, Vimeo would be next in line. However, at this time ClickMeeting remains our #1 due to integration, ease of access and design.

Miro

Miro feels more intuitive than InVision. I think of the two as Apple (Miro) and Android (InVision). Both are very good products and you can ultimately do what you need to with them, but Miro has that X-Factor where everything "just works". I was invited to a board, having never even heard of Miro. I was using it pretty adeptly within a few minutes because everything I wanted to do, I could. And everything I expected to find on the board in a certain location was right there. And the best thing is it's not "over-designed". It doesn't have 5 million features that make it bloated and slow. They've found the balance of function and form. That's the sign of a well made product

Return on Investment

ClickMeeting

  • It was an affordable software for what it delivered. We would have kept using it if the webinars had worked to drive business, or if we'd been able to drive more people to the webinars. Not ClickMeeting's fault. Great return on the investment in my mind.
