Deltek Costpoint vs. Zoho One

Deltek Costpoint is the most frustrating and clunkiest software I've ever used, and I've been using software for 30 years. The interface appears to have been developed before the internet and HTML and does not appear to use any modern widgets made for HTML. Every button click or menu selection requires a pause while something else loads. Our employees waste much time trying to figure out (what should be) simple tasks, and I've spoken with nobody in our company that likes the software. We've had trainings on Costpoint, but people still have issues constantly.

Zoho One helps me to create and document each of my closures by creating deals. Zoho One helps me to generate reports, which helps me to track my contact. Zoho One helps me on creating tasks and reminds me to get it done on time. Zoho One keeps each steps and actions I took from lead to a deal.

• I love how you can cut a check and it opens a PDF version so it can be saved for retention at a later date if needed.
• I love how you can research vendor history different ways. It allows you to input a range or just enter one at a time.
• I also love that there are tons of reports that can be run to help with any projects.

• And offers a consolidation of CRM campaign and other applications without having to use other technologies from other companies so it's great to consulate consolidated

• Customer Care - this is probably the one area that needs the most work.
• Quality Control Testing - if this area had a higher level of detail prior to releasing updates, it might mitigate the number of patches required for customers.
• Cloud Based Product doesn't work for every customer. Get multiple references before considering moving to the cloud offering.

• In my opinion, SUPPORT IS AWFUL!!!
• If you want to get in touch with a support representative, your best bet is to call the sales number and demand to speak with an agent.
• Each of the tools operates in a silo, from a support perspective. Some applications, like books, have chat-based support and others require an e-mail.
• In my experience, expect any e-mail to the main support e-mail to go unanswered.
• The first year of support was great, but after we renewed for the second year, it has become terrible.

The cost for our size company may be to high by the time we review, because when purchasing additional licenses on two separate occasions, only 3 months apart, there was a price increase.

For what we mainly use Deltek for it is a great system. The cost for licenses can become an issue because as a growing company we are in need of licenses from time to time and the process is very cumbersome.

We've been a long time user and are always tweaking our automation to gain efficiencies while improving our service levels. It's pretty easy to come up with what you want to do and then do it yourself. Though, if you're looking to do some really tricked out automations, use of a Zoho Consultant would be a better idea as you'll get exactly what you need much quicker.

The software is so huge and clunky that I wouldn't know how to ask for support. Here is my example of support needed: "Hello, I'm filling out my timesheet like I have been doing every day for years, and suddenly this error message came up that says "Error: 6HX7: PLC not available". I just made that up as an example of the cryptic error messages, but what is that telling me?

Support is great as a customer, as a partner I get moved to that team more often and find issues in the support being provided. It also appears that the support agents do not take into account all the information provided and default back to the "step 1 of the playbook" instead of taking into account the business reason the support is being requested and understanding the steps already taken.

• Deltek Costpoint was able to provide a few more dimensions than ADP and is better prepared for larger international integration.
• DATABASICS can meet our dimension needs and provide the same services as Deltek Costpoint at a much lower cost.

There is nothing quite close to what Zoho offers with Zoho One in terms of breadth and depth of applications integrated together as a single product. Also, you get to manage a single license and user management on Zoho One, whereas you would need to work with multiple vendors and also simultaneously take care of billing and contract management with all of them. It is much easier with Zoho One
