Likelihood to Recommend Well suited for the owner's side of managing multiple projects as it allows for all aspects of a project from development to closeout to be managed on one platform. Not as appropriate for a general contractor as there is better software out there. e-Builder's app is not as effective as others.

Read full review Pros Provide a document structure that is easy to navigate. All documents, even within a process, are stored in the document structure and easily accessed by those with the correct permissions. Scheduling, especially with the new module is easy. It is helpful with a large organization where many hands touch projects to be able to forecast workloads (we have an in house engineering team who reviews all projects during their design phase) Allows for easy interface with contractors and makes the submittal process more straightforward. Read full review As a cloud based solution, Projectplace is one of the few true multiple location, multi person project management tools available for large teams. The reliability for large projects (with teams of anywhere between 50-200+ people) was a huge selling point for this and I witnessed this first hand. The Windows and Mac applications for Projectplace are well designed and work impressively well for a project management tool. I found most of the teams had either application installed on their machine and did not have any complaints about it. Features like AI and project management viewing styles like Kanban, Ganntt and others make the experience customizable for each user and made them adapt it to their preferred project management style. Read full review Cons The restrictions in formatting, and sorting of information rendered, in a way, affects the reporting output. At certain times of day, e-Builder traffic causes the loading of filtered searches to take a while. This is probably common regardless of the site or software used. More complicated reporting has some limitation, though the program is highly efficient in assisting with simple format reports. Read full review Under the time tracking, it would be nice to have a set template that would load each week and not have to click a button to load the previous week's template. Somehow making it more intuitive. Having to add in each service line and each detail that I cover for every service line each week is a bit ridiculous. Read full review Support Rating Again, because our technical support is great. He doesn't always answer the phone but he definitely responds to emails fairly quickly. In addition, I like that he actually resolves an issue and I have yet to encounter the same issue twice. Actually, I haven't encountered many issues at all in the two years I have used the software.
Read full review Planview ProjectPlace is quite complex, but it demands better engagement with various stakeholders to initiate a useful work environment. There are credible ways of establishing more live engagement, from direct chats and audio engagements. More so, Planview ProjectPlace is more formal, and this limits some users from outlining their demands or desires in matters of program performance.

Read full review Alternatives Considered We have not compared other plans since the boss prefers this program from personal experience. But from using this program for 2 years I can see why we don't need to compare. Why fix something that isn't broken? It gets the job done, yes we might run into some issues but I feel like with all companies that can happen
Read full review It offers a simpler alternative that's easier to manage by the less tech-savvy people. I also think that Planview Projectplace has managed to keep the product updated compared to other project management tools.
Miro is perhaps the one that comes to mind, but while evaluating, we saw fewer issues with Planview Projectplace. Overall, the decision came down to the project manager, that had previous experience and recommended the product. For me, using a product from a smaller company is better because I know that there will be a focus on improving it, unlike, for example, Microsoft products that can be discontinued at any moment.
