Project Management
Comparison of Project Management features of Product A and Product B
Well suited for the owner's side of managing multiple projects as it allows for all aspects of a project from development to closeout to be managed on one platform. Not as appropriate for a general contractor as there is better software out there. e-Builder's app is not as effective as others.
Planview ProjectPlace is a vibrant platform that manages all activities and schedules different roles based on their urgency, importance, and requests. Further, Planview ProjectPlace outlines the need for proper documentation with the aim of accurate referencing. Tasks are credibly shared, and proper reporting is enhanced to transform firms' work environment. ; Lastly, Planview ProjectPlace brings sustainable email integration for enterprises.
Provide a document structure that is easy to navigate. All documents, even within a process, are stored in the document structure and easily accessed by those with the correct permissions.
Scheduling, especially with the new module is easy. It is helpful with a large organization where many hands touch projects to be able to forecast workloads (we have an in house engineering team who reviews all projects during their design phase)
Allows for easy interface with contractors and makes the submittal process more straightforward.
The restrictions in formatting, and sorting of information rendered, in a way, affects the reporting output.
At certain times of day, e-Builder traffic causes the loading of filtered searches to take a while. This is probably common regardless of the site or software used.
More complicated reporting has some limitation, though the program is highly efficient in assisting with simple format reports.
Under the time tracking, it would be nice to have a set template that would load each week and not have to click a button to load the previous week's template.
Somehow making it more intuitive.
Having to add in each service line and each detail that I cover for every service line each week is a bit ridiculous.
We're committed now & have >50 users on Projectplace. All our projects are now tracked in the tool. We this investment of time & training, the cost of maintaining Projectplace is relatively low for the benefit. So we will renew, even if there are some idiosyncrasies in the tool & there are opportunities for improvement.
Simple, because have a used it for the past two years, so i'm very familiar with the particular aspects of its program that I need to accomplish my tasks.
Planview ProjectPlace is an actionable approach, which facilitates all the processes that entail project management and resource planning. Besides, Planview ProjectPlace has established credible monitors, which focus on time, and resources for swift performance. More so, Planview ProjectPlace allows accurate prioritization of every business procedure, to bring clear operational maps.
Again, because our technical support is great. He doesn't always answer the phone but he definitely responds to emails fairly quickly. In addition, I like that he actually resolves an issue and I have yet to encounter the same issue twice. Actually, I haven't encountered many issues at all in the two years I have used the software.
An unlimited project collaboration tool that scales with the increase of team members and is designed to incorporate waterfalls and agile workflows and effectively adapts to situations of change of plans very easily. All projects progress is easily followed through a single dashboard with perfect visualization capabilities and allows project team members to share files and documents in real-time.
1. Set up the time to get training on the sytem before you go all in.
2. Listen, ask questions and actually practice using the tools and features while in class. It helps tremendously with becoming comfortable and remembering how things work.
3. Don't be afraid to mess up. They are helpful and will help resolve your issue in a timely manner
We have not compared other plans since the boss prefers this program from personal experience. But from using this program for 2 years I can see why we don't need to compare. Why fix something that isn't broken? It gets the job done, yes we might run into some issues but I feel like with all companies that can happen
It offers a simpler alternative that's easier to manage by the less tech-savvy people. I also think that Planview Projectplace has managed to keep the product updated compared to other project management tools. Miro is perhaps the one that comes to mind, but while evaluating, we saw fewer issues with Planview Projectplace. Overall, the decision came down to the project manager, that had previous experience and recommended the product. For me, using a product from a smaller company is better because I know that there will be a focus on improving it, unlike, for example, Microsoft products that can be discontinued at any moment.
[We have the] ability to support remote work through projects that scale across multiple groups
We have large-scale quarterly projects, so the ability to save and duplicate project templates are helpful for us to keep track of tasks down to the specific card
