Flywire vs. Xoom, a PayPal Service (personal use only)

Many of our international students studying at our institution are financially supported by their parents in their homeland. In other words, they rely on their families for payment of their class fees. So, Flywire makes international payments convenient by making payment by visiting our college website and finding the Flywire payment option. Some prefer this method over credit card payments or by wiring money to the student's bank account in the U.S., which creates a whole additional step in making payments.

Xoom is best suited to send and receive money between two people who live in different countries, not only that we can also send money to our friends, colleagues, family members directly in their bank accounts. They have a great currency exchange functionality that directly converts our received money into our local currency, and deposits it into our bank account within a few minutes. The only drawback is that not many people know about it, it needs good marketing so that more people can use this service, and from my experience, I can say it is very secure and a good competitor of Payoneer.

• Online payment capture is huge! And it's secured.
• Contracts get signed extremely fast using Sertifi.
• You receive an email notification once the customer signs, to know the transaction is complete.
• You also receive a notification when the customer 'views' the agreement.

• Very fast transfer and very secure as being of PayPal.
• Receiver don't need to download the app or use Xoom.
• It supports bank and debit card to transfer funds and same with the receiver.

• Still needs improvement in setting permissions for who in the organization can see full credit card numbers.
• Could use additional backup material for disputes with credit card companies.

• Some destinations take longer to get delivered to.
• Higher amounts of money are harder to transfer.
• High fees when trying to add funds to new card.

It's one of the most easy to use and intuitive platforms. The app is very powerful as well.

The implementation was largely successful. Since this was a large shift from normal practices, we faced a few teething problems, but largely I'd say it went well.

PandaDoc, DocuSign. Honestly they all seem to work for what we were looking for, but Sertifi was a good price and an easy implementation, our use case was probably too basic to really find holes in any of the products in the space because they all seemed to be able to handle the basics that we needed.

We agreed to select Xoom as the main payment method since it had more flexible options. It gives the user a full guarantee of transacting safely and when there is a conflict the customer support team acts quickly. The charges for sending and receiving money are relatively low as compared to other platforms. The mobile application has biometric login features making it difficult for unauthorized users to access confidential information.

• Great feedback from end clients - prior to Sertifi, we were manually creating PDFs and documents as well as mailing them for signature. This new process has increased our return time incredibly!
• Prior to Salesforce, potential recipients were sending emails in as requests that were being tracked in an Excel spreadsheet. Now we have the process automated where they can submit everything online, a document get auto-generated and auto-sent out 10 days later. We've saved SO much time because of this newfound efficiency!

• We have had an uptick in payment processing times.
• We receive payments from customers on time with no lag between invoice and payment dates.
• Overall Xoom has literally added to our bottom line by allowing more than a physical check payment option.
