Chose Frame.io
Frame is easily the most efficient video review service of the options i've tried. Wipster is a close second, followed by Vimeo. Trello is listed only b/c it can be tailored for whatever need you have - though I recognize it isn't a true video review system. Wipster's drawbacks …

I last used Wipster around 4-5 months ago, but I felt downtrodden by both their business practices and interface. Wipster sprung a new pricing model on users. This pricing model made no sense, was extremely pricey for no reason, and felt like a punch in the gut by a new and …

It does about the same thing, but not as well. At the time of my looking at it, Frame.io just wasn't as good of a product. I ended up making a personal connection with the team at Wipster, who aggressively listen to their users, understand what frustrates us as creators (because …

After my experience with Wipster at my old job, when I started a business I knew I needed to look into alternatives. Despite the areas it failed, Wipster still made it easier to do my job. At this point, I've switched to Frame.io and it's hard to look elsewhere. Frame.io does …

Frame.io performs particularly well when video content must be reviewed by a mix of creative professionals and business stakeholders. Its frame-accurate commenting makes feedback clear and actionable, reducing uncertainty or ambiguity. This definitely helps to accelerate approval cycles. For a recent product launch video, Product Design, Product Management, Marketing, Legal, and the Senior Leadership Team all needed the ability to review and comment. We tracked comments and clearly documented approvals, eliminating lengthy email chains.

I actively talk about Wipster and show off how I'm able to get so much done with my clients because of this tool all of the time! If you own or work at a digital agency, it's a must! I'm using Wipster for short and long-form media, it just makes everything so much easier for me.

Wipster was one of the first applications to allow for frame-by-frame video feedback. This provided a unique opportunity to make feedback far more intelligible than before. Before Wipster, we needed to reference phone calls, notes, emails, and messages, as well as communicate verbally with our project managers. A lot of information can get lost this way, but Wipster places the feedback directly with the video, which makes it super easy to understand what the client desires for their video to look like.
Wipster allows for a client to select a location on a frame where their feedback is referencing. It's fairly archaic, but it works. Client feedback sits next to the playback window so it's somewhat easy to reference what the client wants.
Wipster also allows for integration with editing software like Premiere Pro, which speeds up the editing process as well.

I gave my rating of a 7 because times are getting hard in the nonprofit space. If we needed to, we could part with Frame.io and revert back to using free storage options. Frame.io has elevated our experience and we really enjoy using it. But sometimes you have to make tough choices when in tough times.

Frame.io continues to lead with new features that enhance collaboration and review workflows. For a Creative agency, it's been a wonderful digital asset management and client collaboration tool, and more. The ease of uploading and adding stakeholders has had an incredible impact on customer response times, helping us retain and delight our clients.

When sharing videos for feedback, there are no noticeable performance issues with Frame.io. Everyone is able to complete their tasks without the program getting in the way.

The few times I have needed support I have received a quick response - though the one major complaint I have had is regarding the omission of an iPad app - supposedly it is in the works but I haven't seen it release yet. We do have issues with the browser being buggy - especially on slow internet. Whether or not that is something support has failed me on, i'm not sure - but they are responsive, but don't always provide immediate results.

While the technical issues we have encountered with Wipster have been very low in the time we've used the service, the few instances where we have needed assistance were met promptly and effectively by Wipster's Support Team. This support even extended all the way from the platform's founder, as I received help from him, which really impressed me.

Getting Frame.io up and running was relatively straightforward on the backend. Account setup, project organization, and uploading media were all intuitive. The real challenge came with client and stakeholder onboarding. Many users found the interface unfamiliar and intimidating compared to everyday tools, requiring repeated training sessions just to get basic feedback workflows functioning. Integrations with Adobe Premiere worked well for internal teams, though the desktop app felt underdeveloped. Overall, implementation was low-difficulty for tech-savvy editors but moderate-to-high when external collaborators were involved. With patience and proper onboarding documentation, most teams got up to speed within a few weeks.

We utilize both Synthesia and Frame.io for different projects. Frame.io we use for editing actual video content that has been captured. Primary use is for customer training and education. We use Synthesia for short-form video production, primarily for software screen recording demonstrations, and for translation functionality (which is excellent).

At this point, I've switched to Frame.io and it's hard to look elsewhere. Frame.io does everything Wipster does but heaps better. It's easier to use, easier to organize, cleaner interface, and accomplishes my goals at a reasonable cost to the business.

Frame.io's contract terms were straightforward, flexible, and largely free of the predatory clauses common in enterprise SaaS agreements. The language was clear, renewal terms were transparent, and the price lock provision gave long-term budget certainty. Data portability rights were explicitly defined, ensuring we could export our assets without restriction if we ever chose to leave the platform. The agreement also included a reasonable service level agreement with defined uptime guarantees. The single point deducted reflected the initial contract draft containing an auto-renewal clause with an uncomfortably short cancellation window, which required pushback to extend to a more reasonable notice period before signing.

Frame.io's professional services delivered a structured, knowledgeable implementation experience that significantly accelerated our time to value. They arrived with a clear methodology, asked the right discovery questions upfront, and tailored their approach to our specific production environment rather than applying a generic template. Training sessions were thorough, well-paced, and adapted to varying levels of technical comfort across our team. The one point deducted reflected occasional scheduling delays in getting specialized resources assigned during peak periods, and a few instances where documentation provided after sessions lacked the detail needed for independent troubleshooting. Overall though, their expertise and professionalism made a meaningful difference in our implementation success.
