Some of our clients use VimeoLivestream and find it overly complicated. Gumlet hasn't released it yet, but considering how easy it is to use their other services, I trust it will be just as easy to live stream - with the bonus of the content protection.
Integrating and managing a new platform like Gumlet has required less resources and time. The costs associated with using the Gumlet are lower than Vimeo platform. Bandwidth saving and better conversion rates stacks up against Vimeo
Gumlet would be a great product for anyone looking for video hosting. This includes people doing things like I am, storing videos to embed on your site or for use in online courses. It might be less appropriate if you were looking for a built in community where people could find you. Something like YouTube is better for that type of discovery. A note here that I like the Gumlet isn't that type of tool YouTube has it's purpose but for things like this, you want the option for privacy.
Vimeo is much better for Live-streaming than other software or hardware based solutions. The Livestream Studio app runs on Macs and PCs with almost any hardware configuration. It allows you to have unlimited hardware HD and 4k inputs. 3 GFX channels and 3 media playback channels along with configurable outputs while streaming. The most unique tool is the remote guest feature which has a type of zoom function built in so you can have remote speakers join a livestream and easily hear, see, and interact with the program. This software can transform an iMac into a video production truck run by one person.
I’d rate our likelihood to renew at a clear 10, because Gumlet has become such an integral part of how we deliver, protect and scale our video content. The platform consistently performs without issues, the playback quality is excellent, and the security features give us peace of mind that no other tool matched. Beyond reliability, Gumlet keeps adding meaningful improvements such as AI subtitles, interactive elements, and better analytics, which continue to streamline our workflow and increase engagement without extra effort from our team. At this point, switching to anything else would feel like a step backwards, both in efficiency and overall video experience.
It is already at a very good place in terms of delivering what it is intended to do. Of course, there are always opportunities to improve. Gumlet is replacing strong video hosting services like Vimeo, YouTube, Wistia etc. so it needs to be positioned to deliver video streaming competitively to be relevant and worth recommending.
The layout is inconsistent for different parts of the platform, it takes a very long time to find specific settings. Labels aren't clear sometimes - not to the first-time/average user. They actually just changed the interface with zero warning or tooltips and had to contact support to get it back to the version our teachers are familiar with.
The support is not so responsive as compared to other software, sometimes 1 day, sometimes 2-3 days, depending on their staff. I would say it's below average in terms of their support
Generally Vimeo is fast to respond to support tickets with more or less the answer to the question/problem with documentation and clarity in the answer. Usually only takes on message to solve the issue.
They have all the same features and keep adding more, generating landing pages for video share was huge for us. Ease of use, no ads. cost, it really doesn't compete. We're very happy with the outputted quality of the video exports and the ability to manage DRM for video protection was built into the app. A huge bang for the buck here. Can't wait to update or try out more new features. The biggest thing I love is that they listen to their customers and work to implement suggestions from the community.
Vimeo is awesome because it is a seamless experience that blends software and a cloud platform and end user experience. No other competitor offers a holistic solution the way Vimeo does. With other platforms you have to piece together multiple pieces of hardware and software and even with those pieces you don't get the same ease of use and performance that Vimeo gives you with their software and cloud solution
Positive ROI - the pricing is better than other comparable services with a better end result. So, the return on investment is significant since it is an inexpensive way to deliver what I need to my program users.
Positive - their 30 day trial period is so helpful to be able to determine if this is truly a good investment for you/your business. I was able to do all that I needed to within the first 30 days for live video, then continue with keeping the embed links with the continuing monthly subscription.
Positive - good analytics within the account (not Google Analytics with my level of subscription) so I can see how many users are viewing my videos, what devices they're on, and where they are in the world. This is all important for my business.
